Apparently there’s a research being done, and they found out that pistachios help with Diabetes. I can’t remember where I read that, but you can just Google it.
Beans. They have plenty of potassium which lowers blood pressure and they have fiber which helps to control blood sugar.
My sister uses honey instead of sugar for baking. So if a recipe needed 1/2 cup sugar, she would use 1/4 cup honey instead. The honey is half what the recipe calls for with sugar. She does this with cookies to make them softer. Another thing you can do is replace oil in batters with applesauce or mashed bananas. So if a cake mix calls for 1/2 Cup oil, you can use 1/2 cup applesauce or mashed bananas instead. Oil is just a binding agent, and you can’t tell the applesauce. You can do this with cake recipes, brownies, corn bread, quick breads, most batters.
Garlic and celery both help lower blood pressure a little bit, and have few calories. However, your friend has a serious blood pressure problem if she fainted. She needs a prescription from her doctor, because foods and supplements will NOT do enough.
Tell her to stop being foolish and talk to her doctor about changing or increasing her blood pressure meds and if she’s not on anything, to get started asap.
High blood pressure in combination with diabetes causes diabetic retinopathy, which can lead to blindness, and kidney damage, which leads to kidney failure, dialysis and death. It can also lead to strokes if left untreated.
This is serious and must be properly treated asap.
By the way, you have been misinformed. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with insulin, and for some type 2 diabetics, like me, insulin is absolutely required.
Diabetes cannot be cured by anything, it can only be treated and controlled.
New research has proven that garlic is extremely beneficial for hypertension. Garlic thins the blood, which can lower blood pressure by as much as 5 to 10 %. It can also lower cholesterol and discourage blood clotting from occurring in the first place. Garlic can be taken in supplement form and there are some odorless garlic tablets or pills that people can take in order to avoid the pungent aftertaste.
