Best way to stop smoking?
I’ve smoked cigarettes for years and I want to stop. I’ve tried "cold turkey" but they cravings are terrible. I’ve tried chewing gum, but that didn’t work either. Can anyone give me any helpful suggestions on how to quit? And please no smart remarks…Thank You!

You just quit. You condition your brain to be that of a non-smoker. Look at cigarettes as being the most disgusting things ever. Try to get yourself into a mind set where you look at somebody smoking and it grosses you out.
People that "quit" and then start back later on, they never quit. They just took long pauses. When you truly quit, you never EVER have another.
Yes nicotine is physically addicting, but it has been proven that within days after your last cig, the nicotine levels in your body is all but gone. Your body starts healing itself almost immediately after your last smoke. The hardest thing is the mental conditioning.
Just do it. Build an inner strength, and stick with it. You can do it, you just gotta do it.
It’s cheesy to quote Yoda, but this line is dead on perfect.
"Try not. Do or do not, there is no try."
I used a nicotine patch. It worked really well. I stopped smoking for 2 years. Then I went through a rough period in my life and picked them back up again. I stopped smoking cold turkey about 9 months ago for 3 weeks. I picked them back up again, because I smoked while drinking. It is so hard to quit. I am in your boat. Good luck, and I hope you do it!
Carry on my wayward son, there will be peace when you are done.
My mom tried Acupuncture and it was the longest she was able to go. Whatever way you try , you have to have the willpower to go along with it. Respect yourself enough to know that you are harming yourself and others around you when you smoke. That was enough for me. Best of luck to you. I know it is one of the hardest things in the world to kick.
