The most important step in quitting smoking is wanting to quit. You can’t make anyone stop. They have to want to.

Best way i know she can get some help. or i heard that there are these pills that help smokers stop smoking i cant remember what theyre called but u can look it up
nicotine patch
Set about 2 cigarettes on your chest and this suppose to let the nicotine goes into your system.
Chantix , it works…
schitzophrenic are suffering from all kinds of inner drama and if the cigarette helps for heavens sake just let it be. It is perfectly typical for an obsessive-compulsive disorder to be part of the coping mechanism, and to smoke fits the bill.
If she doesn’t smoke she might get worse, because right now it is a "normal" safety mechanism to help her cope with the suffering.
If you want to help, just accept this, and encourage her when she develops hobbies and interests.
I’ve recently come across several articles about schizophrenia and smoking. Apparently a very high percentage smoke…something like 70-80% and because of this, researchers are interested in how nicotine might be helpful for patients. You might want to try doing an internet search to see if you can find some more info.
The best way to stop smoking? Well, she has to want to. There are medications that can help some people (Zyban and the newer one that others have mentioned), as well as nicotine patches, gums, and lozengers. There are also cigarettes called Quest (I think) that have several levels – each with a different amount of nicotine – to wean a person off.
These days there is a lot of focus on quitting smoking and they say people have better luck when they have support. This is another thing you should be able to find a lot of info on… look for websites that end in .gov .edu or .org
