does lisinopril and AMLODIPINE good drugs for high blood pressure with less side effect and are both of them for long treatment ?
does anyone taking amlodipine ? is it ok for young people who have high blood pressure to take amlodipine coz i know lisinopril if the first treatment

Both the drugs are used for the treatment of high blood pressure.both have been used in several patients for a long period of time.
lisinopril is preferred in patients who have diabetes as well as compared to amlodepin.its because it is believed to offer some kidney protection.

Amlodipine (as besylate, mesylate or maleate) is a long-acting calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine) used as an anti-hypertensive and in the treatment of angina. As other calcium channel blockers, amlodipine acts by relaxing the smooth muscle in the arterial wall, decreasing peripheral resistance and hence reducing blood pressure; in angina it increases blood flow to the heart muscle.
Side effects
Some side effects of the use of amlodipine may be:
Very often: peripheral edema (feet and ankles) – in 1 of 10 users
Often: dizziness, palpitations, muscle, stomach or headache, dyspepsia, nausea – in 1 in 100 users
Sometimes: blood disorders, development of breasts in men (gynecomastia), impotence, depression, insomnia, tachycardia – in 1 in 1,000 users
Rarely: erratic behavior, hepatitis, jaundice – in 1 in 10,000 users
Very rarely: hyperglycemia, tremor, Stevens-Johnson syndrome – in 1 in 100,000 users
Lisinopril (lye-SIN-o-pril) is a drug of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class that is primarily used in treatment of hypertension, congestive heart failure, heart attacks and also in preventing renal and retinal complications of diabetes. It has been compared with Omapatrilat which is of similar function.
Potential serious side effects that would require immediate medical attention may include: feeling light-headed, or fainting; urinating more or less than usual, or not at all; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; tired feeling, muscle weakness, and pounding or uneven heartbeats; chest pain; or swelling, rapid weight gain;
The following common side-effects are more likely to occur: cough; dizziness, drowsiness, headache; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach; mild skin itching or rash;
