blood pressure effects Archives

I started taking Diovan 320mg this morning for my blood pressure. Has anyone had any experience with this medication, and any side effects or issues that you can recall having. Please list any positive experiences as well.

My husband just got his blood pressure back down to the normal rate. Before when his pressure was high he had no feelings for sex. Now, he just checked his BP and it is normal and he seems less tense. He is eatting more foods with less sodium and cholesterol. Since his bp is now normal, does that increase the sperm count?

I am 28, played college basketball, when I was 26 diagnosed with high blood pressure and told to get on meds (don’t know how this happened) Im 6′1 and could dunk before got on meds. Now it seems like I can barely run fast and can barely touch the rim now. Is this a side effect of meds and if so what could I do about it?

I have very bad hair loss…was wondering if anyone has the same side effects

1. i can take the initial blood pressure and the blood pressure after the consumption of caffeine…

What else?…please help

i had twin girls on june 5, 2008. when i was 34 weeks pregnant i was diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension. well, yesterday i went to the doctor and i found out that now i have high blood pressure and i was put on medication. i was reading the warnings about the medicine and it said that it was fatal to fetuses. we want another child in a couple years, so naturally i am worried. since i will be off of the medicine, what are the risks and complications of a pregnancy that starts off with high blood pressure? thanks.

I have had normal blood pressure this whole time. Now, at 40 weeks, I had high blood pressure that my Dr. seemed pretty concerned about. I am doing a 24 hour urine analysis and then having blood work and a non stress test and an ultrasound on friday (i will be 40 weeks, 1 day) what causes high blood pressure in late pregnancy, and what are the effects on both mom and baby?
i forgot to add that my blood pressure today was 188/something! i cant remember the bottom number…….

The overall effects of ANP release are a reduction in blood volume and therefore a reduction in central venous pressure, cardiac output, and arterial blood pressure. It increases renal sodium secretion and excretion. It also increases lipolysis.

The overall effect of which is to counter the blood pressure-raising effects of the renin-angiotensin system, meaning it decreases blood pressure basically.

I will more than happy to explain it in a simpler version, juss feel free to contact me!

Almost daily, I am dizzy and have blurred vision. It is during the morning hours that it is the worst. I don’t have the other symptoms (thirst and frequent urination) of diabetes, however. Recently, my blood pressure has been higher (160/110), during the morning hours, than usual. Though, it isn’t high every morning I feel dizzy and have blurred vision.

For the past month my blood pressure has been high. My doctor put me on diltia XT and Diovan. After a week they are making me feel strange, heavy chested, cold and just plain lousy. Has anyone had anything different that they have tolerated better that I can ask my doctor about? Thanks.

I am on both and am 32 years old

I had a health screening last friday and because I have a big upper arm the nurse used a large cuff and my BP was scarily high (140/104). Today I got it measured at a blood pressure kiosk with a "normal" sized cuff and it was better (123/84).

I know both readings are high but I’m trying to track it to help decided if I want to take medication or not. I’m already trying to lose weight which I know will bring it down.

My bf takes medicine for high blood pressure, he has an enlarged heart, diabetes and sleep apnea. In his fridge he has two six packs of zimas. He says that they don’t have enough alcohol in them to hurt anything. Am I stressing for nothing or is he a complete moron?

does anyone have a graph which shows how more alcohol intake increases blood pressure? for like a average aged person?

I have quite low blood pressure and i was wondering how this effects my tolerance to alcohol and drugs. I find alcohol effects me very quickly and i only need to drink a fraction of what everyone else is drinking or i end up pretty wasted. I wanted to know if there is a link there and if my blood pressure would mean i’d also be really sensitive to drugs weed DXM acid and PCP.

BTW This is for a health project, im not planning on doing anything stupid.

My husband has been on Lisinopril for a couple of years. They cut him down to 1/2 a dose after he suffered dry cough, loss of Libido and joint pain. We have his BP under control with supplements of Omega 3, flax oil, EPA, TMG etc. We hope that he will come off of the meds very soon. My question is, how soon should the side effects subside?

What are some short and long term effects of high blood pressure. I’m doing a health project and that’s my part to do.
