blood pressure medication Archives
I have been taking that second BP medication for 3 days and so far no change my readings are still high.
i was preeclamptic during my pregnancy and had extremely high blood pressure. it was almost 4 weeks ago that i had my baby and i still have high blood pressure so my doctor put me on blood pressure medication. my question is, what if my blood pressure suddenly goes back to normal with out me knowing? will my blood pressure go super low and be potentially harmful? i don’t know anything about all this.
thanks so much for your help!
And starting today I noticed something and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s the medication or not. After closing my eyes for a few minutes I re-opened them and everything in the the room had a green color like someone had spray painted everything in the room green. It went away after about 5-10 seconds. Anyone ever hear of high blood pressure medication having these kind of side effects?
For example if you borrowed a few from a friend to keep your blood pressure down to pass a physical which is required for a job I recently applied for until I can see a doctor to get my own. I know it’s not a good or ethical thing to do but I really have no choice at this point.
Thanks for your replies
The other day, I realized that there was a small hole in the cap/lid of my prescription bottle for lisinopril. Is this hole going to effect the pills? I am worried about this and need to stop worrying because it is bad for my blood pressure. Thank you and please help!
I have been perscribed lisinopril for high blood pressure, and it is only 10 mg tablets and on the container it says that it may cause dizziness and not to drive a car or operate machinery until you become familiar with its effects. I work a job that involves operating machinery.
My mother has high blood pressure, but does not like taking pills, so she is only taking her blood pressure pills when she feels she needs them and not every day. Is it harmfull to do this?
My blood pressure is a bit too high. I know it comes from smoking and being overweight. My systolic reading usually runs from 128-138, and the diastolic is 89-99.
I have not been to the doctor, because I do not want to go on medicine. I’m going to try and lower my blood pressure through natural methods such as losing weight and to stop smoking.
Is what I am doing dangerous? Do I really need to go on medicine for my blood pressure?
Thanks!
went to the doctors today to see about my pleurisy which i dont have …have really hig blood pressure for my age so he prescribed tramadon and prednisone for my lung inflamation is this safe ?
I’ve been taking high blood pressure medication for about 4 months. My blood pressure has come back down to normal on the medications, but I still hear the "thumping" of my heartbeat in my ears. Does anyone else have this problem? Hoping it’s not just me… my doctor doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but I was just curious to see if anyone else has experienced it.

I recently started taking blood pressure medication and am wondering if it will affect my menstrual cycle. If so, how?
Serious, helpful answers only.
I am currently 28 weeks pregnant, during the duration of my pregnancy, my blood pressure has been around 150/90. Between weeks 18-26 it had settled down to 130/80, but this last week it rose back up to 150/90. I do have several back injuries (a fracture and a few ruptured discs), which may cause the high blood pressure, I just don’t understand why I haven’t been put on any bp medication. Does anyone know what the case may be?
my mom has started with severe coughs 6 months after going on high blood pressure medication… A friend told me that she had this happen after 1 year on the high blood pressure medication and upon stopping the medication, the cough stopped.
What is the best blood pressure medication with the least side effects ? I have tried Linsinopril, Diovan (valsartan),
Atenolol, Altace. They all bring my blood pressure down some, except for Diovan. It doesnt. The rest have similar side effects. Dizziness, incoherent, lack of energy.
Thank you for your response. I am at risk of a stroke each day.
I had to take methyldopa for high blood pressure with my last pregnancy and it made me feel horrible! I was dizzy and nauseous every time after i took it. Didn’t matter if it was morning or night, any time i took it i suffered. Are there any other medications i can take to mange my blood pressure that are safe to take? i know there are other women out there that have high blood pressure and are pregnant. What do they all do?
Thanks for your help! My Dr. is on Vacation until Friday and i’m too impatient to wait for her answer…LOL! I will definitely bring all your suggestions to the table when i do see her next week though…Thanks!
Would the stopping of blood pressure controlling medication encourage someone to make healthy lifestyle choices like eating healthy, adequate water intake and exercise? Would it encourage someone to make a lifestyle change much sooner than they otherwise might decide on a much later time? What do you think?
already on high blood pressure medication, recently dr. added additional medication that is making me tired. So what to do to have more energy during the day, so that I can sleep at night. I work out 2 to 4 times per week as well.
I am taking a high blood pressure medication, and it seems/appears that since I have been taking the medication I have had headaches all over, dizziness/light headedness, numbness in parts my face, as well as a stiff neck. These symptoms arent consisently there, maybe 1-2 times a day for an hour or so. Can a high blood pressure medication cause such or is this some unrelated condition that I should seek out?
My doctor put me on a high blood pressure medication. I need to know if it is safe to exercise while taking this type of medication.
My doc just gave me a prescription for Atenolol 50mg.Taken once a day.I just started this medication on Thursday but my blood pressure is still very high with no signs of decrease.Does this stuff take a while to start working or will my doc probably have to raise the dosage? Thanks.
I have been taking amlodipine and HCT for about 3 months now. My doctor highly recommended me to take it in the morning. He knows that it makes me drowsy; but, he insists that if I take it in the morning, I will be able to urinate more frequently as needed.
But, I love taking it at night because it helps me to rest better at night. When do you all take your blood pressure medication? Just curious. And share what kind you take as well! I appreciate you all.
My husband is starting a new blood pressure medication, Lisinopril. Because he is taking other medications, I cannot figure out the best time of day for him to take this additional daily pill and achieve desired results.
