My friend (female, age 54), when she gets on a treadmill or elliptical trainer etc) has her heart rate very quickly go up to a rather high percentage of her maximum heart rate. According to the formula of 220 – AGE = MAX HEART RATE, her heart should not ever go faster than 166. Her heart rate routinely gets up around 160 and it gets up there very quickly with not a lot of effort. Her blood pressure is usually fairly low, but she does have high cholesterol and is taking meds for that as well as some thyroid medication. Should I be worried about her?
how to lower blood pressure Archives
My twins are going to be four in july. I breast fed them exclusivly for 6 mo, then my supply couldnt keep up with the demand. They liked formula better, so i quit. sad thing is, I have never dried up. I still make milk, it expresses very easily…when I do self breat exams it will come out..my boobs are sore all the time, and I have had a biospy done on a breast lump 6 years ago, it was just fibrocystic breast lumps…but this is obnoxious..I hurt all the time. I cant play rough with the kids, or let them cuddle too much, b/c the boobs dont like to be touched. severe pain. normal activity doesnt hurt, but should I be worried? I mean, Im 23, in relatively good health, but with high blood pressure. I also have no insurance and no doctor…what do I do? just ignore it like I have been? Like my bp?
ok, now Im a little worried. what is wrong with still making milk? I mean what are the health risks associated with this?
Suppose a patient must take a blood pressure medicine that is dispensed in 125 milligram tablets. The dosage is 15 milligrams per kilogram of body weight and is given every 8 hours. If a patient weighs 25 kilograms, how many tablets would be needed for a 30 day supply?
I was also given this INCORRECT formula to help solve the problem:
n=24d/[8(b*15/125)]
n- number of tablets
d- number of days the supply should last
b- body weight of patient in kilograms
Suppose a patient must take a blood pressure medication that is dispensed in 125-milligram tablets. The dosageis 15 milligrams per killogram of body weight and is given every 8 hours. If the patient weighs 25 kilograms, how many tablets would be needed for a 30-day supply? Use the formula: n = 24d ÷ [8(b • 15 ÷ 125)], where n is the number of tablets, d is the number of days the the supply should last, and b is the body of the patient in kilograms.
I’ve gotten what I need, don’t waste your time answering this =) thankyou so much! =)
A clinic operates five branches within a country.
At any consultation the nurse is expected to collect information for a patient under the following headings:
Branch name
Name
Address
Phone number
Gender
Age
Name of Guardian
The doctor then attends to this patient collecting information on vital signs as follows
Date
Weight
Temperature
Blood Pressure
The consultation then takes effect to know what the patient is sick of , as follows:
Complain
Consultation
Lab Test
X-ray
Others
Treatment
Questions
Draw a design for a medical card in three sections for the activities above, so this information can be entered conveniently. 10mks
Which software would you prefer to use for this design for this card to print many copies that can be used all branches. 2mks
Task 2
You are now expected to design software to manage its activities. Using a spreadsheet application , relay your design into it and enter consultation for three patience. 15mks
Task three:
Given that each consultation cost 600, and a lab test varies from 250 to 15000, and X-ray cost 5000 and Treatment depends on the drugs bought.
Enter the formula that will calculate "Total cost" as a heading. 3mks
Use this to evaluate the Total cost for the other patients. 3mks
Please help me I will greatly appreciate your answers.
I have twins. they are almost four. I breast fed for six months, and just couldnt keep up with the demand. So, I quit. Turns out, they liked formula better, and kept it down longer. (they had acid reflux since they were so preemie.) But thing is, I still make milk. I dont try to excrete it, but when I give my self exams, with my arms above my head all I have to do is gently push the area around my nipples and it pours, sometimes even squirts out. Is this healthy? They also hurt all the time, no matter where I am in my cycle, and the pain is bad. I have lumps, but 6 yrs ago I had a biopsy, just fibrocystic lumps. But no health insurance, no dr. just making milk, and painful breasts. also have high blood pressure. any link? and is this harmful to my health? (i know the untreated bp is, but what about the milk? )
i have to give up breastfeeding and im very upset about it. my daughter is a month old and i had planned on breastfeeding for at least six months. However i have blood pressure and heart problems so my cardiologist put me back on all my medications. I was trying to put them off for bf. i feel like a failure and that she only got to bf for one month. what formula is the best choice? and how do i not become engorged.. i cant have her feed off me anymore
im on midodrine which is a vasoconstictor, flonief a steriod, and a beta blocker. they also want to start hydration therapy on me with a PICC line within the next month
o yeah and Mestinon
I was telling my husband I love him and things I want for our baby who is 6 months…Then I was in the hospital and it was really bright and peaceful and I remember feeling myself fading..I swear I felt like I was really leaving my body but it didn’t hurt…just fading…The nurse was pinched my arm and said "hun its almost time you ahve almost no blood pressure" I was kind of sad and scared but I accepted it …i quickly called my sister to tell her i love her and to tell everyone i love them and dont do drugs and dont cut yourself and everything is ok" It was very peaceful although like I said I was a bit said and afraid especially watching my son and husband walk away and I said "You have to pick up formula now cause I cant breastfeed" Everyone was just so calm it was strange…I swear I felt like I almost died and just as I was dying in my dream my son woke up in his crib which is beside me and woke me up so I fed him and put him back to sleep then I had a panic attack and was scared to go back to bed but I eventually did realizing it was just a dream and now I am fine but this has been bothering me all day…
Which nasal spray should I use? How much each time?
I have a ridiculously intense cold which is preventing me from sleeping and studying. The main problem is my nose. First of all, antihistamines produce side effects for me (scary dreams, confusion, more nasal blockage), and so my only option seems to be nasal spray. I have two nasal sprays: Oxymetazoline hydrochloride .05%, which is supposed to be taken 2-3 sprays twice a day, and ephedrine hydrochloride, which has about 20 mg of ephedrine per 3 drops, according to the box, and can be taken 3-4 times per day. Can I take both of these medicines? Neither of them seem to last long, and if I were really to use the Oxymetazoline whenever I needed to, it would be more like 5 times per day, as the "12 hour formula" only lasts less than 5 hours for me. I’m scared of overdosing on one of them, so should I alternate? Take one during the day, one at night? Would it be okay to use the oxymetazoline or the ephedrine more than the recommended dosage, seeing as not sleeping is very damaging to my health????
BTW I have very low blood pressure 80/50 if this makes a difference in terms of my tolerance of these nasal sprays.
Migraines/Vision Issues after birth?
As a teenager and during college I had monthly migraines. Luckily they stopped occurring about two years prior to the birth of my son. Three days after giving birth I starting getting them again. The only difference was I only got the visual "aura" and not the debilitating headache. It would get to the point that my vision was so blurred I couldn’t see to function. Which is pretty scary when at home alone with a newborn. Anyway after checking my blood pressure and other factors my doctor determined that these "transient migraines" were do to the lack of estrogen from breast feeding. For this reason and because my son was tongue-tied and inefficient, we discontinued nursing and switched to formula.
I’m curious how many others have experienced something similar to this? Also, did anyone notice that their vision was different after having a baby? It seemed like my vision did not return to normal until my little guy was about 6 months old.
**I just realized I initially sent this question to parenting instead of newborn/infant**
A few years ago I started taking a ‘triple stack’ – ephedrine, aspirin, and caffeine – before working out to boost my energy, and it seemed to work very well (the old versions of Metabolife and Hydroxycut had a similar formula).
Suffering from moderate depression, I also found that when I take this combination, it really made me feel much better! I have a definite change in feeling throughout the day and able to have a somewhat normal outlook on things when I take this combination. Not only is my energy level up, but I have much more positive thoughts and generally feel much better.
I am not taking any antidepressants, but I do take this combination several times a week to get me through the day. Is this safe? Better or worse than taking a prescribed antidepressant? Any long-term dangerous effects? I do not have high blood pressure or any other health problems.
My husband and I have a 20 month old son, and he told me the other day he wants to have another child but for our children not to be more than three years apart (our son turns two in March). I was excited about it because I have been wanting another child ever since ours started walking. But on the other hand I am scared. First of all, I am afraid of the pain my first pregnancy was induced then I had a cesarean because of high blood pressure. I can think about the pulling on my skin to take the baby out, the gagging because of anaesthsia, the spinal tap which hurt bad, and all the pain from the surgery and feel nautious. Another thing was postpartum depression I stayed depressed for several months and eventually got over it. The feedings, from formula to solids, breaking bottles again, potty training it all seems so complicated even though I have done it. On the other hand my son is perfectly healthy, gorgeous, and I don’t want to regret later not having anymore children. Advice?
I am considering getting a life insurance policy through State Farm where they have different rates depending on the results of a physical that must be performed. The agent is not able to tell me but I would like to know what the criteria is for qualifying for the preferred and super preferred rates.
BMI? (body mass index)
blood pressure?
cholesterol level?
My objective is to find out if I qualify now and if not but am close I could work on improving my health over the next few months through diet and exercise.
I realize that the criteria will vary based on age, sex, height, etc. but there must be some table, chart or formula they use to determine what rate you qualify for.
Hello, a few days ago about a half Biotest Spike Shooter, which contains
B12 (methylcobalamin) 1,500 mcg
SPIKE® Shooter Formula 1,057 mg
N-acetyl-L-tyrosine
Caffeine anhydrous 300mg
Yohimbine HCl
And aside from anxiety, and nausea I experienced severe heart palpitations for about 2-3 hours. Now I’m wondering if this was dangerous, I didn’t seek medical attention at the point but could this have been harmful to my heart? I don’t normally have heart palpitations and my blood pressure is normal.

I am an ASTHMA (a breath trouble or Decease) patient. I takes a tablet every night named ETO SALBETOL. (FORMULA: Etotylline + Salbutamol + bromhexine Tablets). I got too much shivering and extra faster heartbeats after taking this tablet. this shivering go continue for 4-5 hours then i get regular blood pressure, no shivering & normal heartbeats. My age is 23 but i am shivering like 90 year old man after taking this tablet, but there is no other option to kill the attack of this breath trouble. and because of asthma, i cant do any hard work, long walk or outdoor games. so my waist is 28 and my stomach is 34!!!
very bad looking my figure is! give me another good tablet or Formula for asthma which would not give me side effects like shivering and give me a sure and safe way to reduce my stomach less that my chest. (well, i got this trouble in Heredity.) Thank you to all of you readers in advance, God bless you.
My baby is 11 weeks old. Born 4 weeks before due date because of high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia. My baby often seems hungry still and cries after nursing. When I try to pump breast milk, I only get anywhere from 2-3 ounces. I am making sure to get plenty of rest, drinking plenty of water and eating a healthy diet to help produce milk. I’m afraid my baby isn’t getting enough from me and have been supplementing with formula. Should I give up on breast feeding and switch completely to formula? Is there anything else I can do to increase breast milk? I also pump after nursing to help increase stimulation.
Blood plasma flows from a bag through a tube into a patient’s vein, where the blood pressure is 10 mmHg. The specific gravity of blood plasma at 37°C is 1.03. What is the minimum elevation the bag must have so the plasma flows into the vein?
Ive used the formula
P = P0 + density * g * h
10mmHg = 1.03 kg/m^3 * 9.81N/kg * h
is this correct and solve for h?
5 month ago after my first c section i got high blood pressure it was 160/100, 2nd day after c section the hospital internist prescribed me with ALDOMET, DOPAMET, ADALAT AND "TENORMIN’, i weaned off aldomet and dopamet at first week postpartum, and tenormin at 2nd week postpartum, and adalat at thrid week postpartum. I recently have some blood test, my fasting blood sugar was 100, and tested again usually around 87 to 98. Postprandial ussually around 120 two hour after meal, but i had it once spike to 179at 90 minutes after meal. am i a prediabetic? is tenormin to be blamed? i was never diagnose with gestational diabetes, and before pregnancy, i was very healthy with FBG under 85 and no family history of diabetes.. and when i was taking tenormin, i nursed my baby mix with formula milk, can this harm my newborn too? very curious, and shock when i read an article said tenormin or beta blocker cause diabetes
Hi. We are traveling to Greece with our baby this summer and I need help translating some phrases from English to Greek. These phrases are all related to my baby and when I say ‘her’ or ’she’ it refers to my daughter. Anything in parenthesis is for clarification and does not need to be translated to Greek. I know there are a lot of phrases here, so please translate whichever phrases you can. You can also email me at almasykusnyir@yahoo.com if you prefer. Thanks!

Hi, im 23, heavy weight large build bout 240 and I have dealt with an ED issue for about 6 months or so, since early February, but never was stricken by ED before then. Ive determined my issues is due to stress and blood pressure. tried the usual stuff, male enhancers, cock rings KY, etc, but yet to get medical help for stress. Romance and sexual activity and sex in general is great, we’re happy, but stress is still an issue till i get help and id like to get it up easier.
I just bought a bottle of KY 2 in 1 tingling formula, now heres my question, will it help achieve an erection easier??? either way it is useful for the other stuff, so it wasnt a complete waste of money.
I have an interest in obtaining Cialis or Levitra, but
Also, any suggestion to help are appreciated and suggestions on going about lowering stress and blood pressure too
Thanks
Ok, just trying to give some background. So I’m 38.5 weeks pregnant and being induced on Monday, I’ll be 39 weeks then. I have been having A LOT of swelling ( the kind where even my toes get huge!). Today when I went into the doc’s they took my blood pressure 3x (because they couldn’t believe how high it was) and I have increased blood pressure now. The doctor said the baby is big and not much fluid for him, which could be causing him stress. I am getting a ultrasound tomorrow to get the about weight and to see if the baby is breech. He told me if the baby is under 9lbs and 4oz and is not breech I will not have to have a C section.
Ok so what I am wondering if anyone could help is
What exactly happens during an induction
What was you experience with it if you had one
How long were you in labor
Would you rather of had a C section
What do I need to bring to the hospital for the baby
What do I need for myself
Will they give me anything for the baby? I’ve heard that they give you some formula and diapers and bottles.
Anything else you would like to share would be GREAT! Thanks for your help!
I am 21 and I do not have horriable acne but at any given time I can break out with between one-ten pimples on my face, it got really bad when I went on tri-sprintec birthcontrol… the only thing that clears my face is yaz birth control however, I couldn’t afford it this month it is like 70 dollars at my local rite aid and I think 65 at wal-mart pharm. Yaz stops my skin from getting oily, I have tried cheaper birthcontrol and the only one is yaz… ortho-tri, trisprintec, and the like ten others I tried that I can’t remember the name don’t do it. I know there is a blood pressure med called spiro for short that was accidently discovered to cure hormonal acne aswell, however I don’t want to be stuck on pills to treat my acne. I know its hormonal, and I have noticed that since I couldn’t get yaz this month my oily skin came right back. Perhaps I have a hormonal or potassium imbalance? Does anyone have any experiance with this particular type of acne and birthcontrol?
I naturally have low blood pressure, my grandfather passed it down to my mother and she passed it down to me. When I am getting ready to start my peroid if I stand up my eyes go black and I cant see and I get a tingly feeling like when your foots asleep. On a very rare ocassion it will make the tips of my fingers tingle aswell.
I also have a non-related health issure with hearing… I try to keep it a secret but I have suffered hearing damage from having cronic ear infections and ruptured ear drums. I am young and I don’t want many people to know because I guess I am vain and want to be seen as healthy n pretty lol.
P.s for my acne I use clean and clear foam face wash, and the old moisterizer not the new formula. This is the only was n moisterizer I use, I’d recomend it, its gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin.
I recently went to my doctor and was diagnosed with blood pressure and high/bad cholesterol levels. He also advised me that if I didn’t do anything about it, my heart would severely get worse. Now I know what you must be thinking…"Some fat guy with a poor diet and exercises very little, if any at all." This could not be farther from the truth. I am barley in my 30’s, 74" tall, and weigh 210 pounds. My doctor prescribed medication for both the blood pressure and cholesterol; however he told me that it was ok to take OTC vitamins to help.
My question to you all is this: "Am I taking too much of the vitamins below?" This is what I am currently taking:
Morning time / 6:00am
Fish Oil 2400 mg
Vitamin D 1000 i.u.
Super B-Complex (1 tablet)
Night time / 6:00pm
Fish Oil 2400 mg
Vitamin D 1000 i.u.
Super B-Complex (1 tablet)
"One a day" Men’s Health Formula, vitamin (1 tablet)
I am currently pondering the idea of adding a low dose of Niacin into the regiment. Maybe 100mg a day and night…that is if I can withstand the flush effect.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
As for my diet…
All I drinnk is water, belive it or not. Given my work schedule it is hard to eat the normal 3 meals a day. Sometime I work from 5am till 6pm, and others I work from 5pm till 6am. I eat alot of cereal (Basic 4, Honey Bunch Oats, Cheerios, etc.) I try to limit my red meat intake and eat alot of chicken. I don’t eat fatty or fried foods. I don’t eat the proper amounts of anything in the food pyramid, but I do limit all the "bad" things I should not be eatting.
Here’s a little background info that you’d need to answer my question… before you comment, make sure you read all of this and don’t skip over any details, because I don’t feel like dealing with people who don’t take the time to truly "listen"… I’M ONLY LOOKING FOR HELP AND ADVICE FROM PEOPLE WHO KNOW ABOUT TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE. ALL OTHER ANSWERS WILL BE IGNORED OR GIVEN A POOR RATING.
For a while now I’ve been under extreme psychological stress and depression– the significant stress, "ungroundedness", and instability of my life (which I have little control over) has triggered my depressive tendencies. There’s lots more to tell here… I have a disposition to become depressed due to the environment that I was raised in and the genetic dispositions that I inherited and were nutured within me. I have lots of threatening financial stressors, debts, and home stressors. Furthermore, I come from a very ungrounded background where my parents were very very unstable, inconsistent with their nurturing and emotional states, unpredictable, angry and hormonal/unbalanced mother, emotionally repressed and unavailable father, emotional abuse, my self-esteem was ripped away from me. If it wasn’t for many years of counseling I would have a horrible self-esteem right now– I am still in counseling. My mom had a heart attack at 45 and has diabetes, my dad is hypothyroid and pre-diabetes (my parent’s diabetes is mainly due to their extremely poor diet and lack of exercise). So for years with this upbringing my disposition when under stress has been: depression/irritability, high blood pressure (I’m only 22), feelings of loneliness/emptiness, trouble thinking straight, mild digestive issues (gas/loose stools), trouble getting to sleep, apathy, tension in my shoulders/jaws. Furthermore I even smoked weed for a while and ignorantly took too many yang tonics for over a year and a half like Chinese/korean ginseng, suma, maca, rhodiola, ginger, etc which drained my yin, I have a significantly diminished sense of reality and sense of self. The dreamlike feeling is a very defunct and unsettling feeling. All this has led me to learn more about my condition… I’ve read much literature on ayurvedic medicine, chiropractic medicine, general naturopathic medicine, homeopathic medicine, and last but not least TCM or traditional Chinese medicine; TCM and Chiropractic being most effective so far after having myriads of acupuncture treatments in the past and Chiropractic adjustments on my neck, shoulder, pelvis, back, and hips.
So lately, I’ve gotten more educated on TCM. I’ve found that my body is very drained of yin (in a general sense). My life style and it’s stressors (which I have little control over) drains my yin and results in a rising yang. To support my yin, I have been taking Rehmannia 6 formula. I’ve added to this formula fresh dried goji and schisandra berries with almonds, as well as small amounts of peppermint, lemon balm, and nettle (in capsule form)—this formula is to tonify my liver yin and kidney (jing/yin) as well and to soothe my digestive system. On top of this formula I am eating more yin foods, eating less heavy meats and dairy, and eating a few more sweeter (healthy) foods that will tonify my spleen– I have had some issues with digestion, loose stools, and gas. Likewise to try to better deal with things, I’m getting psychotherapy and am doing light cardio exercise.
The good news here as a result of these dietary/herbal changes is I have already seen: a significant improvement in my levels of irritability and patience; heart rate is 5-6 bpm’s slower; my sex drive is slowly getting back to what it was when I was in highschool (I’m 22 now fyi), my eyes focus better; my tinnitus has lessened (ringing in the ears is something I’ve had all my life); less gas, my physical energy is “cleaner”; my sleep has deepened; I feel more tired in the evenings and get to bed between 8 and 11pm as opposed to before when I wouldn’t feel tired at night and couldn’t really get to sleep until like 5 or 6am… so good improvements here from just taking these herbs and making other dietary changes. I have TCM to thank for these changes that have happened so far. Note: I’m NOT doing acupuncture, qi gong, yoga, or massage because I CANNOT afford these things unfortunately– Right now, all I can afford is herbs (everything else except occasional Chiropractic adjustments is out of my budget). I’m doing what I can while trying to be as smart and educated as possible in my decisions.
What am I getting at here? While there have been some significant improvements in the areas that I mentioned above, my problem is that I haven’t seen an improvement in my mental energy, joy, sense of reality, enthusiasm, zeal, etc (and I still don’t know enough about TCM theory to make the right changes). I don’t feel like taking any uneducated risks without help from people who are educated on this stuff…
My hypothesis is that I’d see an init
My hypothesis is that I’d see an initial change about a week after taking this Rehmannia 6 enhanced formula (which did happen—I don’t think it’s a placebo effect either) BUT wouldn’t see any impact from it on my mood and emotional energy for at least a few months into taking it as it would take a while for my deeper sleep to restore my emotional energy (joy/zeal/enthusiasm) in addition to replenishing my stores of jing and my yin—at least for my specific case.
Is my hypothesis correct that… my deeper sleep and taking the liver/kidney yin formula would slowly build my emotional energy, joy, sense of reality, enthusiasm, etc? OR do I need to consider adding additional herbs for this?
btw, if you read this I greatly appreciate it…
Hi all! I am a breastfeeding, co-sleeping Mommy to a beautiful 14 month old baby boy. I have NO intention of weaning any time soon… As a matter of fact, I am going to allow my son to self wean. I am on a TON of medicines for high blood pressure (4 to be exact) and, I have to take an occasional medicine for pain as I was in a truly terrible car wreck and have 2 very messed up vertebrae in my back. Keep in mind that I do not over take anything and all of the medicines are approved in Dr. Hale’s book Medicine and Mothers Milk. I can’t tell you how many times I have been told that I should quit breastfeeding by some really ignorant people b/c of my high blood pressure issues. This group of morons even includes 3 doctors that I have been through (and fired).
Anyway, my neighbor was over the other day, I was feeding my little love bug and she made the following comment….
WOW, I CAN’T BELIEVE that you are still breastfeeding him! I breastfed my daughter for 6 months and switched to formula. So, I said: Why can’t you believe it? And she has the nerve to say: Because with all of the medicine that you are taking you are being very irresponsible. You are doing him more harm then good. Besides that, he’s too big and does not need it. So, of course I figured that it was her own guilt of giving her kid formula or whatever and politely said: You are wrong, it still does him a lot of good. I thought that was the end of it.
2 days later (the day before Christmas Eve), Social Services came to my home. CPS! And said they had an anonymous report that I was taking drugs and breastfeeding my son! I could not believe it! I showed them everything I was taking! To make a long story short, they apologized and left. 5 minutes later she came over asking what the police were doing at my house! She is totally acting like she had nothing to do with it! I asked her if she called and she said of course not. The thing is that there were no police at my house…. Just CPS and how the heck would she know that if she did not call? She lives behind me! I’m just so pissed right now! I would NEVER do anything to hurt my baby. If she thought I was such a bad person then why would she have me babysit her baby?
How the heck would you guys deal with this? I have been avoiding her and never want to talk to her again! If she thought that there was an issue and she is my friend, why not talk to me? What would you do? Am I wrong to be furious?
BLAIR and all else whom think it’s a bad idea to take medicine while breastfeeding. GET EDUCATED!!!! The only medicine that passes to the baby is medicine that attatches to your protien in your blood. Even if I were taking those kind of medicines, the baby would only recieve approx .001% of medicines which are considered SAFE. It is MUCH MORE DANGEROUS TO FEED MY CHILD FORMULA! Most doctors are UNEDUCATED when it comes to lactation/breastfeeding. Next time you go to your doctor ask how much education he went through for it. I checked not only with a Lactation Consultant, but also had my DOCTOR that admitted he was not educated check with Dr. Thomas Hale who is only the BEST pediatric pharmacologist on Earth. I did my research people! Now, do yours before you go to thinking that FORMULA is safer then breastfeeding while on medicine that is SAFE for breastfeeding.
OK… For those of you all that say I should have listened to the 3 doctors that told me not to breastfeed due to my high blood pressure. The first told me that it was PAIN related and that I should take MORPHINE regularly and that would bring my BP down. The second stated that my high blood pressures were DUE to breastfeeding… When I asked for PROOF of this, he could provide NONE. He himself admitted it was just a guess. The third wanted to prescribe medicine that WAS NOT safe for b/f’ding without even doing any research to find some that is safe. My doctor now and myself have spent hours upon hours becoming EDUCATED. I now see why she called CPS… The ignorance that some of you people have mirrors her own. I am not doing something because "some book" says that I can! I am giving my baby the BEST start in life possible, SAFELY, because I CAN!
As for taking medicines in combination, yes, they are safe too. AGAIN, I’VE DONE MY RESEARCH. AND YES, FORMULA IS THE DEVIL! IT IS POISON. For the person who said I’m a selfish mom for breastfeeding… All I can do is laugh at you! THANKS FOR CRACKING ME UP! I truly needed a laugh tonight!:-)! HEHEHE!
I was wondering can a 18 year old take this?

I am 74 years old and had bypass surgery about 12 years ago. Nevertheless I am in pretty good shape. I keep very active, going a lot of gardening and having the dog take me for a long walk every day. I can even keep up with my young wife! The only medical problem that I have had for many years is high blood pressure. A couple of months ago someone recommended that I try DCPC compound hypotensive tablets from Beijing.( reserpine, chlordiazepoxide, hydrochlorothiazide, dihydralazine sulfate, triamterene) They appeared to work OK and I had no side effects. Then, a couple of days ago everything went downhill. My wife and I were at a kid’s outdoor exercise display. The sun was very hot and, after about an hour I began to feel a little weak and had to sit down. I decided to go home and felt progressively worse. My temperature was 39C, pulse about 75 and blood pressure 175/110. I also had diarrhea. I took DEXA amiodpine and atenolol and after about 2 hours my temperature and pulse were normal and pressure was 130/80. That night I had trouble sleeping. I had been working with a computer program formula and this was somehow fixed in my mind and every time I tried to think about something else my thoughts kept coming back to this stupid formula. Here in Indonesia it is always hot and I am used to the UK cold. Thus I always use a fan. For about 2 hours I got the chills and ended up covered with a thick blanket. My appetite was zero and so was my energy. The next morning I felt fine and all the symptoms except the diarrhea had disappeared. I now feel fine but really need to know what brought this on.
After a couple of days I was fine and just would like to know what brought it on. I think it was side effects from the Chinese med
I am 32 weeks pregnant with my second little girl. With my first, I started noticing around 34 weeks that as my uterus tightened with my Braxton Hicks contractions, I could feel my heart beating in my ears, my head felt like it was in a vice, and I could feel heat radiating off of my face. My doctor didn’t think much of it because my blood pressure was 90 over 50. At 38 weeks, my mom, who’s a nurse, started taking my blood pressure during these contractions and it was 120 over 110, which is apparently a very low "pulse pressure." I went to the hospital and they tried to send me home, because my blood pressure was normal. I made them keep me on the machine and I used nipple stimulation to induce some contractions. When they saw my blood pressure spikes, they immediately induced and gave me a c section 12 hours later. They told me I had toxemia and early preclampsia. The worst part was that they put me on magnesium for three days. It made me feel out of it and have HORRIBLE hot flashes every couple of minutes. I had to cover one eye to see anything because they wouldn’t focus together. It amplified all of my pain. I had to start my daughter on formula because the medicine was passed through breast milk and she came out all drugged out because of it. Now I wonder how long it had been high before I caught it! Now I’m feeling the same way during braxton hicks: heart pounding, head aches and pressure, ears ringing sometimes, blurred vision, trouble breathing. So here’s my question:
Are these symptoms of hypertension or are they just how braxton hicks contractions feel? Did anyone else’s BH feel like this? My mom’s out of town for a few weeks and I’m wondering if my baby and I are in serious danger if my blood pressure is getting that high again. What are the chances I’ll have to be on that dreadful medicine again? Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to thoroughly explain the situation. Thanks for the help.
A 5′6", 210 lb., 64-year-old male business executive had a physical exam prior to his retirement from corporate work. His blood pressure was >180/115 on three separate days. Further examination showed normal to low plasma renin activity, elevated total peripheral resistance (TPR), cardiac output (CO) of 7.2 L/min, x-ray evidence of left ventricular hypertrophy, retinal hemorrhages, and mild polyuria. Recommended therapy was weight reduction to his ideal level, a low-salt diet (<2 gm/day sodium), prudent exercise, and a reduction in alcohol consumption (<3 oz whiskey/day). This change in lifestyle did little to change the condition. Medication was initiated in the form of an oral diuretic and progressed to a beta-blocker; eventually a vasodilator was included to reduce the blood pressure to <140/90.
1. What is the diagnosis for this individual?
2. What should this individual’s ideal body weight be? (Assume he is of medium body frame.)
3. Explain the sites of action for the three pharmacologic agents prescribed for this individual.
Oral diuretic:
Beta-blocker:
Vasodilator:
4. Why was the vasodilator not used before the other drugs were added?
5. Outline the usual steps in the medical treatment of hypertension.
6. What was the cause of the retinal hemorrhages?
7. Define and indicate the causes of the cardiac hypertrophy and polyuria.
8. Write the formulas for determining mean arterial blood pressure, blood pressure, and pulse pressure.

Systolic blood pressure, the higher number in a blood pressure reading, is measured as your heart muscle contracts. The formula P ≤ 0.5a + 110 gives the normal systolic blood pressure P based on age a (in years).
•Find your normal systolic blood pressure.
•At age 30, does 125 represent a maximum or minimum systolic pressure? Explain.
today i am 38 weeks, to my knowledge i am making no progress, but i don’t even know if that is for sure because my midwife hasn’t checked me at all.. i thought she would at 37 weeks but nope.. just the regular, heartbeat, blood pressure, weight and so on..
i’m in constant pain and i have these weird fears.. frankly, i really had my heart set on breastfeeding my son, cause i loved breastfeeding my daughter, but he’s going to be born with a cleft lip/palate and they told me i most likely won’t be able to breastfeed, they encourage me to pump but want to supplement him with formula after he’s born and still in the hospital…?? i find that depressing..
and then i have this horrible fear that i feel like crap about because i know he’s going to be born with a cleft i fear rejecting him, i can’t imagine i really would, i’ve been so looking forward to meeting him, but i have dreams where after i have the baby i don’t want to hold him or anything.. sigh.. I guess this isn’t a question…
After my twin girls were born (they will be 8 wks tomorrow), by emergency c/s (i was dialated to 5 and one of them turned "sideways") the dr closed everything up and we went to the recovery room, they could not get my blood pressure to go up it only continued to drop for 2 hrs after surgery. It was down to 60/30 the last time i looked. Another dr stepped in and told them there was a problem and they had to get me in for another emergency surgery. After the c/s there was internal bleeding left and I was told had I been older and unable to fight that I would have died (I was dying before the second surgery and my body was already in convulsions). Anyways due to all of this I have excessive medical bills, my twins were in the nursery and fed formula for 3 dys so we are still having b/f issues. Would you sue?. It’s not about money but it has happened to other women. Should this be allowed to continue to happen? I can’t seem to forget this happened and it has stressed my entire family out
I’m also a pharmacy technician so while in the recovery room my boyfriend was there with our newborn twins and I had to tell him to go with them when they moved the girls to the nursery so they could deal with me 1 on 1. After he left they decided to do the second surgery and the hospital never let anyone in my family know about the second surgery so you can imagine they all went crazy trying to find out where i was and no one knew anything. Once again this is not about money it’s about dr’s almost killing people and nothing being done so it continues to happen. Also my girls were perfectly healthy and had no reason to be in the nicu for 3 days so if you can imagine what my bills for that add up to maybe you can understand where i am coming from with this. Thank you in advance for your answers.
This all happened so fast before the second surgery that i was forced to sign an okay for a hysterectomy and was also given 11 units of blood due to the fact that they took out a blood clot the size of a football (the dr himself told me this). If you know anything about the human body you don’t have much more than that to start with.
You know Stacy I love people like you. What would the world do without you? For your info I have very good insurance as well as a good life and family so before you go trashing people you should really hope that nothing like this ever happens to you or your family. And trust me honey I have money and NO that’s not what this is about. Also to clear up some more of your b/s..I didn’t have the chance to question my girls being in the NICU..I was in surgery and in ICU myself for 3 day. Just a reminder to myself don’t feel bad about people like Stacy. Maybe someone will give her the reality gut check that she needs one day. But for her sake I hope she never has to go through what I have been through and my family and friends have gone through and I hope her children never have to chance losing their mother due to someone else’s hands.
At a given instant, the blood pressure in the heart is 1.90 104 Pa. If an artery in the brain is 0.50 m above the heart, what is the pressure in the artery? Ignore any pressure changes due to blood flow.
1060<mass density of blood that I use
which formula would i use since its in pascals?
I’m looking for a good weight loss supplement to start taking to help me lean out. I’ve used Slimming Formula before in the past (from beachbody) and it seemed to help a bit, but was checking to see if there is anything else more effective.
Note: I’m 23, have had 2 open heart surgeries and take daily medication for blood pressure. So I can’t take anything that could potentially raise my blood pressure like creatine, ripfuel etc…
Any Ideas?
Thanks!
I know the FDA banned ephedra based weight loss formulas in US in 2004. I lost over 25 lbs before without dieting using one of these type products so I would love to use this type product again.
A friend said they are using a new product made in US that has ephedra, but does not have any of the harmful effects of incresed heart rate or raised blood pressure.

does anyone know if this is safe?
This is part of capillary exchange (bulk flow: filtration and reabsorption) I know there is two ends the arterial end and venous end, however there is also a formula with many different variables that plays a role in the dynamics of capillary exchange. For example: Blood hydrostatic pressure, Interstitial fluid hydrostatic pressure, Blood colloid osmotic pressure, Interstitial fluid osmotic pressure, and finally Net filtration pressure? Anyone know anything about this…
Children’s immune systems are very active and excludes them from being a high risk to foodbourne illness.
Excessive and prolonged use of stimulants can increase heart rate, but will not have any influence over insulin resistance or blood pressure.
Breast milk contains two important components called growth factors and immune factors that are not contained in formula.
Taking a prenatal vitamin is very important for a breastfeeding mother.
I was breastfeeding my son when I was hospitilized for my high blood pressure. They told me that I couldnt breastfeed him because of the medicine that I was taking so I had to "pump and dump" as they called it. I did this for two days until my nurse for the night whom also happened to be a lactation consultant told me that it was okay to breastfeed while taking the magnesium sulfate. But by then the damage was done. My son was hooked on formula and wasnt latching onto my breast anymore. I really miss the connection and I know that breast is best but my supply has completely dwindled. Is there anyway that you can "restimulate" your breasts to make milk again?
My baby was in the nicu unit for 5 day’s due to eating problems and swallowing amniotic fluid, all they used on him was

Do you think this should be required information for all families?
For those of you that have jumped on the negative bandwagon, all of this information has been well documented in medical journals. I did both with my twins, breast and bottle.
On alcohol they have warnings because it is a dangerous substance, so is formula. It is undeniable that it kills 1.5 million children per year. WIC in many states is having people sign an informed consent with this information. I am just seeing what others think.
If you don’t agree with facts you don’t have to be rude.

Was it the manna that the Jews lived off in the desert? Can you cure AIDS with it? Is that how Magic Johnson looks better than most non HIV positive men, does he drink breastmilkshakes daily? Can I drink it and will it cure my hypertension, and if so, will anyone here ship me some? My mom breastfed me for a year and I still wound up with high blood pressure as an adult, I still had chronic sinusitis as a child, I still suffered from ear infections, I still got strep throat as a baby girl, I still had ringworm as a kid, I still caught measels, I still got colds every winter, I kept a snotty nose up to about age 3, and I’m allergic to cut grass and pollen.
How did my formula fed cousins and brother escape these maladies? So, am I the golden child something, because I was breastfed for a year? Is my mom better than my aunt, even though her formula fed girls BOTH have masters degrees, and I only have an associates degree? They also beat me in chess all the time at the family reunion.
Thanks Dixie chick. That was most pleasant to know. Have a great day.
I also beleive the appropriate term is ‘developmentally challenged’, not "retarded", which comes from the French word, ‘retard’, which means to slow or halt.
liljen, that had me on the floor. LOL!!!! Ha ha ha!!
me and b- LOL!! Cool, man. I’m off to find some breastmilk and some alka-seltzer!! Ha ha ha ha!! I’m sure my doctor will be amazed to see my blood pressure at 90/60 at my next appointment. Thanks brother.

Can somebody please explain why the vein has lower blood pressure than the artery or capillaries using physics? Hint: Use Bernoulli principle, and pressure formula possibly? Just give an good argument. Thanks.

I’ve been taking Nordic Naturals Complete Omega 3 6 9 (fish oil pills) this week and i want to add One-A-Day Men’s Health Formula. Is this safe? Can i take both of them at the same time or should i take them separately like one during lunch and the other during dinner? I know I should just eat a proper meal but i hate to eat certain food. I also have high blood pressure but my pressure has been back to normal in recent years
oh and can i just stop taking both like cold turkey? or should i gradually slow it down and then none at all. ( in case i want to )
I am a FTM as if you wouldn’t be able to tell by this question.
Well anyways I just wanted to say I did plan on breastfeeding, I got to do it for two days at the hospital and then my blood pressure stayed REALLY high and so did my pulse so they had to do cat scans and nuclear medicine to make sure I didn’t have a blood clot in my lungs, I don’t phew but they kept me on a blood pressure medication that isn’t the best for a baby to have. So I opted out and decided that I will give up breast feeding because there is no way I am going to have my poor son sucking down on some medicine that "may" have side effects on him as I was told. Ok now that I have probably bored you to tears here is my question, he is 2 weeks old today and has been eating 2 ounces of formula every 2 to 3 hours for me for the past 2 weeks. Now today it seems as if it just isn’t enough for him he grunts and fusses and whines and I am wondering if it is ok to give him a extra ounce. The pediatrician scared me at his first appointment saying that if I "HAVE" to feed him more to just do a extra half a ounce because he could get a upset stomach yada yada. But that was when he was 3 days old. So with that all being said what do you think a extra ounce is ok or no way? I go to see his doctor again next week but I just wanted opinions from the mommies out there that have gone through this. Also is there a feeding chart online I could glance at. I can’t find anything. Thanks lots ladies and gentlemen!

When my nephew was born he hardly cried and was lacking color. It didnt seem right but the doctor said it was fine. We’ve noticed that he breathes very hard and uneven from his belly most of the time. Also, he hardly ever wants to drink more than 2 oz. of formula at a time. Finally my sister took him to see his doctor and he has high blood pressure that is different in each arm and leg.
Also during birth, he became irritated and my sister had to stop pushing for a while. The nurse said he might have had the cord wrapped around his neck for a while. Could this have anything to do with his poor blood pressure?
What could be wrong with my precious nephew?
I am going on 34 weeks pregnant & trying to get prepared for my daughters arrival. I will be formula feeding with her as I’m on blood pressure medication which passes through breast milk. I already received some bottles from my baby shower, I have a few Dr. Browns & Playtex with the liners. Are there any bottles that you recommend? And how many should I purchase before she gets here?
If I’m 6′5" tall and 300 pounds? What formula is used for determining it.
I donate blood on a regular basis, at least once a quarte, and have never had aproblem donating. Today I went to donate and could not because my blood pressure was too high. The lady said it could have a little to do with my two cups of coffee and bottle of coke I drank this morning, because of the caffeine. But then I also remembered that I took Sudafed PE last night for a bad headache. It is maximum strength Sinus & Allergy formula. I took one does at 6 pm, then another at 11 pm and tried to donate at noon today. Could this effect my blood pressure? I usually stay away from ANY medications for at least three days before a donation, but I just completely forgot, probably because my headache was so bad I was not thinking.
I have been working on a project for the past year experimenting with different drugs, chemicals, supplements, herbs, foods, exercises, sleep patterns etc. to come up with a solution to cure people of the ailments of depression, anxiety, lack of energy, irritability, and stress. I have a fairly good formula that works really well yet it increases blood pressure due to a higher adrenaline rate than normal. (The adrenaline is to give people energy). This includes a couple of foods, 2 drug pills, 2 supplements, a multivitamin, a certain amount of sleep per day, and a little exercise. Basically, you feel really great, things that aren’t so enjoyable are not so bad and things you somewhat enjoyed before, you really enjoy now. In addition the energy level is high, temptation to do bad things is low (because you are already happy) and you are more social and friendly b/c you are happy. Is it possible to take certain foods, supplements, or drugs to lower the blood pressure yet keep
adrenaline levels a little higher than normal?
i am 28 years old, i am not formula with blood pressure scales and what is the number the consider more important top or bottom?

I am looking for a non-prescription, safe, no side-effects product to increase blood flow, lower blood pressure and act as an anti-inflammatory. I took the first capsule today. The directions say
one a day but according to the bottle a "serving" is 2 capsules.
Looking for experience with this product or the problem.
Does One a Day Men’s Health Forumla reduce blood pressure when it is taken regularly? Also, is there a sort of dependency on this vitamen (drug)? For instance: It’s taken once a day for 3 weeks, will I HAVE to continue taking it daily, or can I stop anytime I want?
Will my blood pressure rise if I were to stop taking it?
[what are good methods of lower blood pressure?]

I’m 22% body fat which is a bit below what I’m expected. I am meant to be between 25% – 30% so I’m not that far off. I eat well and such just want to be a bit healthier.
Also I have a Blood pressure test (at school so not very accurate) that said the bottom number was very high how do I lower that.
I was laughing while the test was done cause of my friends though.
Need to lower blood pressure about 15 points systolic and 10 points dyastolic. Already take prescription meds for this.
I have hypertension and I’m on medication which along with watching certain dietary items controls it nicely. I know the things that cause high blood pressure and try to stay away from them, however sometimes I know it is up and was wondering if there is anything you can do to knock it back down. If there are so many things that instantly raise it, it seems like there should also be things that would instantly lower it.
I really need to lose weight and lower my blood pressure. What is a diet that would address these issues?? I just realized that my microwave meals are LOADED with sodium. I am not a very good cook, also.
I had just gotten my blood pressure taken on a machine and the reading was like 140/70. I have been eating cold cut sandwiches every day for the entire year and believe that this is why it is high (it has never been high before this year). I was wondering if I could lower this in one week if i don’t eat anything high in salt?
I am looking for natural ways to lower blood pressure besides excercise. I know there are supplements and other things besides drugs.
am looking for natural ways to lower blood pressure besides excercise. I know there are supplements and other things besides drugs.
I am not looking for an easy way out. I am looking for alternative ways to lower my blood pressure besides being put on medication. It does not mean I am not willing to diet and it does not mean that I don’t excercise. It means that I don’t want to be on hbp meds.
I was reading where one drink a day can lower blood pressure rates a bit for men, and reduce the rates of heart attacks. Does anyone in a medical field or from personal experience know the best type (wine, beer, ect.) to drink?
i am trying to find out what is the best form of alcohol, between maybe a red or white wine, beer, etc.
I’m going in for a medical exam to qualify for a scholarship and part of that includes a blood pressure check. The exam is in 4 days. Right now my blood pressure averages about 131/83. I need to get it to 120/80 or lower. I know taking aspirin and diuretics can help, but are there any other ways to lower blood pressure quickly that you might know of?
I hate to use prescription meds. I just don’t trust them not to cause other problems.
What food or natural remedies can I use to lower my moderately high blood pressure?
I got my blood pressure taken today and my reading was 124/74. I did some resarch and my Diastolic (74) reading was great, but discovered that my Systolic (124) was considered "prehypertension." Normal would be 120 or lower. I’m a ways away from having hypertension, but I want to get out of that "prehypertension" catergory. What are some effective ways of lowering my blood pressure?
I need to lower my blood pressure by the end of 3 days. I don’t need to lower it a whole lot, just a couple of points. please help and thanks.
For those of you with medical backround I have a question When I was examined by a doctor recently I was told I have high blood pressure and I felt at peace and not upset. I have high blood pressure 166/89 – and I know I need to change my diet, but I’m not sure what foods are ggod to lower my blood pressure.
What over the counter drugs are used to lower blood pressure?
Even drugs that may only lower it as a side effect.
Thank you!
I know that when you lift weights, you get a temporary increase in blood pressure. But over the long run, does weight training ultimately lower your blood pressure?
I’ve read everywhere that exercise can help lower your blood pressure because it will help you lose weight. I’m already skinny and won’t lose anymore weight when exercising. Will it still help lower my blood pressure? In other words does exercise lower blood pressure ONLY because it lowers weight? Or are there other reasons/factors?
My dad has high blood pressure and was prescribed some medication to lower it. He has to keep taking it for as long as his doctor tells him it’s ok to stop but his medication (Tarka) is pretty expensive and sometimes he can’t afford it so he just stops taking it. I worry that something might happen to him when he does this. Does anyone know where I can find Tarka for less (he currently pays for a 30 day supply of Tarka 2/240mg) or do you know of a natural way to lower blood pressure?
