exercise more and eat less salty foods. also, try not to stress out or get mad (if you have a temper).. things like that can cause high blood pressure.
Cut the salt from your diet. Avoid processed foods. Read the nutrition labels.
When my ex’s was too high, we restricted his caffeine to one cup a day. I quit cooking with salt and he didn’t add it; and he started taking garlic capsules. His dropped drastically. He was in danger of losing his truck driving job because he couldn’t pass the health test due to the BP. Fortunately, it came back into normal range with these dietary changes.
Exercise will help bring it down, too. Just because you are skinny does not mean you are physically fit. Unless you exercise enough to bring up your cardio rate, you aren’t doing anything for your heart.
there is no cure for hyper tension sorry. but there are things you can do. try to lower your sodium intake, monitor your weight, and excercise. if it is still persistant they may give you medication such as a betablocker like propranolol or others like losarton or clonidine also they may try a diuretic like hydrachlorathiazide, also it is important that you monitor it, try to take your blood pressure daily.
actually after writing all that down. was it just a one time measurement? if your blood pressure was just high once that could be a whole cornacopia of things injury can raise blood pressure, as can stress and some people just being in a hospital can stress them enough to raise their blood pressure.
Exercise regularily (do cardio, walk, jog), and watch the salt!!! Read labels on food you’d be shocked how much sodium is in processed/packaged food!!! Also watch your fat intake, you may be skinny but that’s no excuse to consume a lot of fat! Down the line, fat will clog your arteries and worsen your high blood pressure and cardio disease.
The 80 here is slightly high as it relates to your heart beat rate. Cut down on red meat and salty meals. Indulge in more salads with no artificial dressings ( bottled). Try a very simple mix for your greens including cider vinegar, olive oil and a hint of pepper. Deal with all situations while trying to calm down and don’t over exhaust yourself in your sports training.
First off,the fact that you were at the Dr’s might have brought it up abit. Until you have more consistent readings I am not sure I would be guaranteed that you have real blood pressure problems but at the age of 18 it is certainly something you should watch and watch closely.
If infact the Dr was concerned enough to put you on medication then you should give that a try and all the while making changes in your diet and exercise regiment.
More fruits and vegetables, less red meats, less sugars/starches and things high in saturated fats would be a great start.
Daily walking that you can slowly increase would help.
Getting the blood pressure even lower while on medication would certainly give you a greater chance of getting taken off of any medications for blood pressure if it is lower.
Even if the Dr did not put you on medication the same would hold true.
LITTLE DRINK OF VINEGAR A DAY WILL ALSO LOWER YOUR BP.
