Heart palpilations and weird blood pressure?
Hello,
Everytime I head for bed and I lay down on one of my sides (left, right… doesn’t matter) …I feel my heart beating, so loud that I can’t fall asleep. This does not occur when I’m laying on my back. I’ve had Helicobacter Pylori diagnosed and I’ve been treated with anti-biotics, the heartbeats dissapeared during the treatment and a while after but now they’re back. The heartpulse also makes a cracking sound around my armpits. I’ve done two blood pressure tests on the same machine and they had two completely different readings:
first:
upper: 127 mmHg
lower: 77 mmHg
pulse: 65 ppm
second:
upper: 162 mmHg
lower: 87 mmHg
pulse: 55 mmHg
the second one worries me a bit, low pulse high pressure?
Is there a way to mute these annoying heartbeats? I miss sleeping like a rock. And should i worry about my pressure?
Thanks!

Despite all the info you gave you didn’t give some important stuff such as how old you are; whether you’re obese/underweight; sedentary or very active/sportsperson; if the BP readings were taken on the same arm or different arms and the time between each reading. All these are important to know.
Most people tend to notice their heartbeat more lying in bed on their side because the weight of the upper lung helps to force the blood out of the heart emphasising the motion in your chest. This is normal and of no real concern.
Variations in BP are quite normal. You can take you BP on the same arm just minutes apart and get some noticably different readings. Sometimes the changes occur because the first reading surprised you or, you changed position or you coughed/burped, etc, increasing your thoracic pressure temporarily. Again this is of no real concern.
The ‘cracking’ sound you report is interesting and should be checked out as it could indicate some minor blood vessel problems.
Of more concern is whether you’ve noticed and palpitations or irregular heartbeats. If so then you should get off to the doc to eliminate a cardiac infection which was partially treated by the antibiotic course you were on.
You need to call your doctor and tell him about this. No one on YA answers is going to be able to diagnose a problem and some of the symptoms you are having could be serious. Better to be safe than sorry so please call your doctor and let him know what you are experiencing.
