garlic pills
green tea
Eat more garlic or take some kind of natural garlic supplement, is what I’ve always heard for high blood pressure and the heart. Of course, you’ll want to talk with your doctor about this. I’m sure s/he’ll tell you other ways too. Contrary to popular myth, the doctor really would prefer you figure out good ways to take care of yourself and prevent poor health. They will want to tell you if you ask. Good luck.
It is hugely doubtful that natural remedies will work. Having hypertension is called the "silent killer" for a reason. Losing weight, eating right, etc., can and will effectively help lower your blood pressure. In the meantime, take your prescribed medication !!
My granddad, when he was dying, had very low blood pressure and the doctors told him to avoid GARLIC because it lowered your blood pressure even more.
The general rule they said was that foods that start with G lower your blood pressure. I’m sure not ALL foods that start with G do that, but as a general rule it was suggested to him.
But definitely, garlic will help. Taking aspirin in low doses and maybe having some wine or other alcohol in small amounts daily can help too. Also, aerobic exercise is critical in having healthy blood pressure, as is a healthy diet with plenty of water / fluids.
Garlic
Green tea
Chinese herbal treatments
But what ever you choose, keep in mind the most important thing is to have a…
…Healthy balanced diet!
All the best!
I take 2000 mg of garlic twice a day. The tablets can be found at any health food store or Wal Mart. It has lowered my bp by 20 points in diastolic and systolic
I also suggest that you ask the technician taking your blood pressure to use a larger cuff because a lot of the time it is an equipment problem, not a you problem.
Make sure to discuss any dietary supplement with your doctor as it may cause your other medications to act differently.
Good luck.
hav more of garlic… its best… have lots nd lots of water… reduce intake of oil nd salt… best way to control this is go for pranayama…its sure short way it changes ur way of thinking and ur lifestyle..
My husband has high blood pressure and tried the natural route with no results. Unfortunately, you will have to go on something like toprol. It’s really not a big deal to take the meds for it. It is, however, a much bigger deal to leave it untreated. It could get worse As you get older and you run a much higher risk of heart attack. The benefits of taking the medication such as Toprol is a lowered blood pressure as well as a calmer feeling as a result. you take it once at night and it helps you sleep better, too. There have not been any negative side effects in my husband. He’s just been calmer and more at peace. High blood pressure can mean a bigger temper for some. So, I suggest giving it a try. If you don’t like it then with your Dr.’s permission, stop. What could be the harm in that?
This worked for me, can’t say it would for everyone. Green tea, and flaxseed. Of course it makes sense to cut sodium intake as well. I went from being on two blood pressure meds to zero in a month due to my new regimine. My blood pressure is perfect now. Of course my doctor won’t say that the two did it, but I personally feel it work for me. Doctor’s are funny that way. Natural treatments aren’t what many of them want to admit works. Do some reading online about natural remedies for better health. Flaxseed has many health benefits. You might want to also read about that. I hope you can find something natural that will help you. Just keep monitoring your pressure, and keep your doctor informed.
try to use lots of garlic in Ur food.also take garlic tablets.
boil whole coriander seeds in 2 glasses of water for 5 mins and drink it twice a day.u can get whole coriander seeds from any south Asian store.’
most of my family is high bp patient and they use this remedies and it works.
A Chiropractic adjustment of the C3 vertebrae at the base of your neck and the top of your spine will correct
High blood pressure. There have been studies to prove this.
I see a Chiropractor 6 to 10 times a year, and have never had high blood pressure.
This is much better than taking more medications. Of course a really clean diet, exercise and losing weight is always a helpful way to improve your blood pressure.
Brew your own green tea, and use turbinado sugar if necessary. High fructose corn syrup is in bottled green teas, and that is a killer too. Stay away from processed crap! Raw vegetables and lots of fruits, NO dip, though. Eat brown rice, not white, or mix some white into the brown for an amazingly healthy source of food. Eat cabbage and nuts like almonds – good for your brain too!
Good luck.
sir, always remember that being hypertensive (high blood pressure) needs lifetime medication. please continue the meds the doctor has given you.
and if you notice that your blood pressure is already normal after months to years of taking the meds, do not stop your medication immediately. first inform your doctor about it. he might reduce the dosage & frequency of your meds.
remember that the meds controlled your blood pressure. without the meds, your blood pressure may shoot up again, and might cause heart attacks or stroke (brain attack).
as for the natural remedies, these may be taken with the medications. garlic pills so far did not show any undesirable side effects. but before starting anything, you have to clear up with the doctor.
hope i was able to help, and let you understand the importance of anti-hypertensive medications.
Good thing you ask. There’s a lot you can do!
- Reduce salt intake.
- Exercise regularly (aim for at least 20 min a day).
- Reduce saturated fat (usually from dietary products and sweets). Go for fats from nuts, fish, soy products.
- Increase fiber. Oatmeal does wonders.
- Stop with the sugar excesses.
- Eat more fish. It contains omega-3 fatty acids, which reduces cholesterol as well.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Be sensible. you know which foods are good and which ones aren’t. Try to reduce the bad ones and increase the good ones.
These lifestyle modifications can really make a difference if you stick to them. Any doctor will suggest these before prescribing medicines (unless you have morbidly high BP, such as 160/100). Just changing your diet is the simplest and healthiest way to get your BP down.
Some people have mentioned garlic here. I’ve heard it helps blood clotting. However, there’s no scientific proof to back those claims up, so I wouldn’t put too much focus on eating garlic.
Lifestyle modification works for most people before they try drugs. Give this a try for a few months. If you think it doesn’t work, then prescription medication might be the only thing that will.
If you have noticed high blood pressure , repeat the measurements after few days to confirm if it is a persisting hypertension or it was related to a passing case like being afraid, worried, tensioned, or due to phisical hard work.
If the blood pressure remained high after few days or a week, try the following to reduce your blood pressure:
1- Reduce your weight if you are over weighted
2- Quit smoking if you smoke
3- Revise your diet to reduce fats, salt and salty food, and spices.
4- Make the majority of your meals from vegitables, fruits, weat products ( for bread, spagetty, cookies) and brans.
4-Practice sports like walking or any reasonable sport you like except the tough ones that will have negative impact.
5- Be cool, take it easy, when you have a situation don’t panic or over-react, avoid hot arguments, nothing worth destroying your life, and don’t be tension while driving.
After few weeks or a month measure your pressure.
The above steps should reduce your blood pressure if it was not essential pressure or not related to any medical defect in your body,
If your pressure is still high after the above steps, it might be essential blood pressure or prssure resulting from other deseases , you have to visit your doctor , he will be able to diagnose and advice the proper treatment.
Take care , don’t ignore blood pressure , it has nasty effects on the long run especially on the heart and kidneys, control it even with medicine,
I am using blood pressure medicines since 22 years with no problem.

My exprience as a hypertensive person
I tried, on a whim, some herbal East Indian capsules, and to my surprise they work very well…I buy them here at this site…I am not familiar with the herbs, as they are Indian but act as a diuretic…I went from a BP averaging 145/94 down to 114/74…it has been amazing…
Lose weight, drastically reduce salt intake, aerobic exercise.
Monitor your blood pressure carefully. Prolonged high blood pressure is a killer. Don’t let your anti-medicine bias be so strong as to ignore the problem.
Cause of high blood pressure needs to be checked and treated. REduce Sodium, increase Potassium, take more water, take more fiber, avoid stress by exercise and deep breathing etc.
A must read book, The High blood pressure Solution.

A Scientifically proven program for preventing strokes and heart disease.
Based on the principles in this book, the entire country of Finland has reduced strokes and heart attacks 60% nationwide. Enjoy.
If you are overweight, the first thing you MUST do is get on a good nutrition (Not diet) and exercise plan. Dr. Phil has a very successful one, you can order the book on his websight. I believe Oprah has one also. You may need to take BP meds until you lose the weight, but can probably reduce the dosage as the weight comes off. Also drastically reduce your salt intake, (remove the salt shaker from the table) and restrict fried foods, and red meat. Eat more chicken and fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables, including the green leafy ones like spinach. Garlic is also very good. Use garlic and onion POWDER, or fresh, instead of garlic and onion salt when cooking. Mrs. Dash, is a great salt substitute, and has many good spices that are salt free as well. Simple things like that can make a big difference.
If you are healthy and in shape, then I would suggest green tea, blue berries, and cut out any caffeine, and salt in your diet. Learn how to read food labels. You would be surprised at all the things that are loaded with salt (sodium), and/ or caffeine. Do some research on the internet about what foods help control high blood pressure.
See a Homeopathic Physician if none of the above can get it under control.
Try a Yahoo search for "high blood pressure" + "natural remedies".
5 Steps You Can Follow
1. If you are a smoker, stop. Nicotine results in constriction of your arteries and increases your heart rate.
2. If you have to lose some pounds, do it; reducing blood pressure through diet and exercise normally reduces the need for medication.
3. If you love salty snack, cut it down. Salt does not cause high blood pressure in everyone, but lot of people experience trouble with it, so don’t take risk.
4. If you experience very stressful situation in your life, try to eliminate it, or learn stress management; biofeedback, meditation, and other relaxation techniques.
5. If you use alcohol to control stress, restrict its use. Though alcohol does not increase everybody’s blood pressure, but it may increase yours.
