http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/ is a new approach on quitting. The site is designed for everyone who seriously wants to stop smoking without gaining weight nor using any medication, and it’s free.
"It doesn’t matter if you are a five a day teenager, or a one hundred a day pensioner, male or female, or if this is your first or fiftieth attempt at stopping – if you really want to stop smoking then this is the site for you."
working out and staying healthy. I never smoked cigrattes so I do not know what urge people get on the reason why they would want to smoke cancer sticks. Honestly find something better to do then contribute to cancer
Hi,
It’s really a great thought to stop smoking. Smoking just harms you and gives nothing in return. If you really want to quit smoking then you can go for different smoking cessation products available in the market like herbal cigarettes, patches, micro tabs, gum, lozenge, inhalation aids. All these products are specially manufactured to help the people who are looking to quit smoking. You can order any of these products online from Chemist Direct and have a great discount in comparison to market price.
You can go for any of the product and see the results with in 2-3 months of use.
Nicotine patches are available to help you quit smoking.
Also, try bringing gum with you and chew some whenever you feel like smoking. It’s also best to have someone around you who doesn’t smoke to help you resist the urge and/or keep you away from temptation.
I don’t smoke so I don’t really know if this works but these are what I heard some smokers do to quit. =]
i used to smoke a lot and quit just a year ago. i tried quitting several times before that and i didn’t even try the nicotine patches because i know that i would miss the oral fixation that comes with smoking.
i just quit cold turkey. it will be hard for the first two weeks. The first 3 days you will feel lightheaded and kinda out of it, but it will get better. your senses will be stronger – your taste for food will get sharper – also your sense of smell. There’s no other way than quitting cold turkey. And exercise. I suggest you pick up a habit because if you have too much time on your hands, you will think about smoking all the time.
First off, congratulations for WANTING to quit smoking!!
As far as answering, there are a lot of ways, and it also depends on how much you’ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you’ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.
For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you’ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal…
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it’s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).
All that being said, it’s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last smoke (it’s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don’t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.
Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!
Eliminate triggers that make you crave a cigarette. For the majority of smokers, they also have to quit coffee, since coffee has always gone hand in hand with a cigarette. For my son-in-law, he couldn’t effectively quit until he quit coffee also. (which isn’t a bad idea even if you don’t smoke).
Decide what it is that most makes you crave a cigarette and remove that also. If you always have a cigarette with a friend at a certain place and time, then let that friend know you are trying to quit and that you would like to meet him in a restaurant that doesn’t allow smoking.
Be creative when eliminating triggers. It doesn’t mean you need to stop seeing people or doing things, just change the habits you have.
Also, it really does work best to quit cold turkey, tell your friends, and let other smokers around you know you won’t tolerate being cajoled into a cigarette. Stay around people who support your decision to quit and will hold you accountable. If someone tries to tempt you because they know you are quitting, walk away and just don’t speak to them again until you feel stronger.
It is widely known that when other smokers learn of one trying to quit, they will offer them cigarettes and try to get them not to.
Good luck, you are making a positive decision!
Finally – if you have one, don’t give up!! Tell one of the people who support your decision to quit and let them help you through it.
Hypnotherapy is an extremely effective way to give up smoking because it doesn’t rely on ‘willpower’. Willpower doesn’t really exist, it appears to exist when your subconscious mind agrees with your conscious mind.
When you ‘give something up’ you often feel deprived. If you experience a stressful day, you may think to yourself, ‘Why have I given up smoking when I enjoy it’
Cold turkey with a change of routines. Once you make up your mind to stop, just do it. But, it also helps if you generally smoke with friends to be away for a short time, so that there isn’t that added pressure making you want to smoke. After the first week or so, the nicotine cravings go down.
