Is there any blood pressure medication besides Methyldopa that i can take during pregnancy?
I had to take methyldopa for high blood pressure with my last pregnancy and it made me feel horrible! I was dizzy and nauseous every time after i took it. Didn’t matter if it was morning or night, any time i took it i suffered. Are there any other medications i can take to mange my blood pressure that are safe to take? i know there are other women out there that have high blood pressure and are pregnant. What do they all do?
Thanks for your help! My Dr. is on Vacation until Friday and i’m too impatient to wait for her answer…LOL! I will definitely bring all your suggestions to the table when i do see her next week though…Thanks!

There are other options. I remember asking my dr the same question when I got pregnant with my 2nd, because I had pre-eclampsia with my first. They said the other options tend to not work as well and have more complications/side effects, but they do have a backup medication for those who can’t use methydopa. I hated being on that stuff. I would pass out after taking it and wake up just in time to have to take it again and pass out. When I was awake I was dizzy and I couldn’t even remember simple stuff like that the long yellow thing you write with is called a pencil. It was bad. Hopefully, you won’t have high blood pressure this time and you won’t need medication at all!
