Migraines/Vision Issues after birth?
Migraines/Vision Issues after birth?
As a teenager and during college I had monthly migraines. Luckily they stopped occurring about two years prior to the birth of my son. Three days after giving birth I starting getting them again. The only difference was I only got the visual "aura" and not the debilitating headache. It would get to the point that my vision was so blurred I couldn’t see to function. Which is pretty scary when at home alone with a newborn. Anyway after checking my blood pressure and other factors my doctor determined that these "transient migraines" were do to the lack of estrogen from breast feeding. For this reason and because my son was tongue-tied and inefficient, we discontinued nursing and switched to formula.
I’m curious how many others have experienced something similar to this? Also, did anyone notice that their vision was different after having a baby? It seemed like my vision did not return to normal until my little guy was about 6 months old.
**I just realized I initially sent this question to parenting instead of newborn/infant**

I had a bit of blurring while I was pregnant but not afterwards, but I did notice that my headaches are a lot worse now.
My vision stunk after giving birth. And now that my daughter is 14 months it is a bit better. I used to have the blurry episodes, but they have decreased.
I know your vision is (sometimes) greatly affected while pregnant and after. They suggest you do not get glasses for a year after giving birth (giving your body time to go back to "normal") I had to take an eye test while pregnant and I couldn’t believe the difference. I used to be called "eagle eyes"…not so much anymore
