My infant nephew's blood pressure is high and different in each arm and leg. Whats wrong?
When my nephew was born he hardly cried and was lacking color. It didnt seem right but the doctor said it was fine. We’ve noticed that he breathes very hard and uneven from his belly most of the time. Also, he hardly ever wants to drink more than 2 oz. of formula at a time. Finally my sister took him to see his doctor and he has high blood pressure that is different in each arm and leg.
Also during birth, he became irritated and my sister had to stop pushing for a while. The nurse said he might have had the cord wrapped around his neck for a while. Could this have anything to do with his poor blood pressure?
What could be wrong with my precious nephew?

Your nephew is human. EVERYONE’S blood pressure is different on both sides. Yeah he breathes from his belly because the diaphragm is located just above the abdomen and HE is breathing properly. I’m not going to give you an anatomy lesson but I’ll leave this link…see below
The only thing wrong with your "precious" nephew are the people around him who are looking for something to be wrong with him.
My prayers are with you. It sounds like he might have a congenital heart defect, possibly coarctation of the aorta (poor feeder, different BP in upper extremities versus lower extremities). If his parents are concerned they should see a pediatric cardiologist.
Hi. Congrats by the way. Yes, you need to have her insist the doctor find out what is wrong. It is not normal of course and if that doctor will not find out, than it is time to find another no matter how much she personally likes him or her. Her primary goal is her son.
It could be partly due to the cord and a lack of oxygen during that time. It could also be a clot, a hernia or other such problem. He needs to be seen and may need to go to a pediatric specialist. Do not wait until the next visit. Insist on it right away. It sounds like he has some kind of distress. There are many reasons why the pressure could be different on each side of his little body. The main and most important thing is for her to get him to a doctor that will find out what the problem is before there are any further complications.
It could be that it is not serious but it sounds like something to be checked out soon. If the doctor cannot see him in the next day or so, take him to the hospital, explain all the sympoms clearly and calmly and tell them about the breathing part as well. God bless and good luck!
it sounds like his heart needs to be checked. The blood pressure and the breathing indicate that. I would call a pediatric cardioligist. Tell his mother to tell the doctor or nurse what is going on, and mention that his doctor thinks he’s fine but you still have concerns you would like checked out.
