Nicu amount?
My baby was in the nicu unit for 5 day’s due to eating problems and swallowing amniotic fluid, all they used on him was
Diapers
Formula
Bottles
Iv
Blood pressure machine
blankets
and the blue light for being yellow for 6 hours
How much would that bill run?

oh trust me, they will charge for alot more than that.. also, room and board.
thousands and thousands of $$$; you have to consider that NICU has to pay for all the equipment, the specialty nurses, MD’s, etc.; even if your baby did not have a need for some of this equipment, it was on standby for 5 days just in case it was needed; also, i’m sure your baby had tons of lab work, etc.; anyway, i’m glad your baby did not need some of the other equipment, but i could name about 10-20 things that i KNOW would have been used on your baby that you don’t even realize
depends. it all depends on how much your insurance is going to cover. why dont you talk to the hospital about this.
Ask to meet with someone from the hospital’s Business Office to get information about health care coverage for your baby. Also, ask to meet with the NICU social worker who will discuss long-term costs of your baby’s care such as medical needs, follow-up services, home care, and resources available in your community.

My son was in the NIC unit as well for about the same amount of time. Born on Monday morning and released Friday afternoon. The cost of that + labor and delivery + lab work, etc=$25,000 (give or take a couple hundred dollars). I hope you have insurance. All I had to pay was the co-pay ($250)
