I’d like to meet the guy who first decided to try cow’s milk. Did he start salivating over a cow’s teet? Mmmm, I want to suck the mucus from those teets, they look so delicious! Hey everyone! Try this! Ewww! My question is about my mom, who has type II diabetes, and high blood pressure (who also has eaten meats and cow mucus all her life). Can going vegan CURE her of this disease? She is scared to eat raw fruits, because she says it will spike her blood sugar, so she’d rather eat some meat instead. I am really worried about her, and I’ve just converted (cold turkey/overnight) to full vegan, and already my belt is at it’s last hole, and I need to buy new pants! But even more than that, I’m not sleepy all day (digesting meat consumes a LOT of energy) and I can’t help but walk, run, bicycle, and stretch more. I have so much more energy, and my complexion is already clearing up. Instantly, I feel like a new person. Does anyone have advice for a diabetic/high blood pressure person to start a Vegan lifestyle? She keeps quoting doctors (who only make money if they keep her on pharmaceuticals) about how she needs to eat a "balanced" meal, and she totally thinks I’m stupid. I tell her how no one has ever gotten sick from "protein deficiency", but she won’t listen, and she’s scared of fresh, raw, sweet fruits.
She’s overweight, fatigued constantly (just as I have always been, because I listened to her advice), and "sick".
I have also found, that I have always been quite aggressive, but this is basically gone. My demeanor is so much mellow and relaxed, and I believe this aggression came from the imbalance in my life for PAYING OTHERS to murder animals for me to consume – that way my hands don’t get bloody, and I don’t have to see, smell, or even be aware of what’s really going on.
I wear leather (because I ride a motorcycle and non-leather shoes and belts just suck), and I went vegan for my health, not for the animals – about the opposite of most vegans I know – but I also don’t salivate when I see a dying animal on the road – like any carnivore does. I don’t get hungry when I see a grazing cow, and jump on it’s back and sink my teeth into it’s hide, like a meat eating tiger might do. I actually feel ill when I see a bloody carcass, and I don’t like touching raw steaks. I believe this is natural.
I need help convincing my mom to go vegan, but also in a safe way. Please don’t say, "consult a physician", because that’s all she ever does, and I believe that they don’t get paid by vegans.
If everyone went vegan, all of the following industries would suffer (in no particular order): Pharmaceuticals, Farmers (dairy, meat), Trucking Industry (transporting dead animal products), The Restaurant Industry (including the bussers, servers, cooks and dishwashers), Nurses, Doctors, Oil Companies (less fuel to transport all that poison), toothbrush companies, mouthwash companies, floss, ALL THE WEIGHT LOSS SCAMS and infomercials, books, fads, gyms, etc.
If you’re a die-hard meat eater, leave this question alone, please. Go be gross somewhere else.
Any vegans that are diabetic, or have been? Please help! Thanks!
Oh, I forgot to mention the best part for my transition! No more painful (and gross) bowel movements!!!! It all flows so easily now, and my time on the "throne" is much shorter and pleasant!
