To add on, does anyone have any idea on how to break the routine? I enjoy taking time to go outside and smoke. It is very relaxing, however it isn’t the same without a cigarette…
My husband and I have set February 3rd as our quit date. I know how hard it is, I’ve tried to quit several times before. We’re going to be trying to help with the cravings with the patches and lots of gum or suckers. Does anyone have any other suggestions that could help. Thanks!
Thanks for all your answers…we are foing great. It’s been 3 1/2 days and it hasn’t been so hard. We’ve had cravings but they don’t last very long. My nicotene patch fell off yesterday and I left it off for about 8 hours before I showered and put on a new one and things have been fine. I would highly recommend the Nicoderm CQ. We have had very few withdraw symptoms and we’re breaking the habits of "thoose times when you want a cigarette" pretty easily. It’s nice, we still find ourselves going into our pocket or purse to get a cigarette whenever we forget, but then it’s like wait I quit smoking. I think it’s going to work this time. Thank you for all the answers and congratulations to those who have stopped smoking in the past and to all you trying to quit or wanting to YOU CAN. I have never went this long without a cigarette and I never believed I could do it. I did though and you can too.
my mother smokes like 30 cigarettes a day and it is really scaring me. i am afraid she is going to get lung cancer or something. i have been trying to get her to stop for years now, but she keeps saying, Alexis it is none of your business of what i do with a cigarette. i need help immediatley. plz help i am getting really scared.sometimes while she is smoking she will start coughing really hard like she is choking. plz help. i don’t want my mother to get cancer, die, or anything else bad about smoking.
I have been trying to quit smoking for the last three months. But whenever I’m not very busy doing something I have the erge to smoke. Also, when I at work, some of my co worker know that I am trying to quit and they make things worse because that start asking whether I have had a cigarrette. The fact that they even mentioned it makes me want a cigarette, so I end of lapsing. I don’t want to use the patch or any drugs that help to stop smoking. And I really don’t crave the nicotine. It’s really a habit. For instance, when I get in the car, I am use to lighting a cigarrette. So, I do. I’ve tried chewing gum and that works only a short while. To add on, I am trying to loose weight as well. One day, I did ok, but I craved chocolate and sugar all day long. I ate all day long, too. What else can I do? Not to mention, I have asthma, as well.
