5 month ago after my first c section i got high blood pressure it was 160/100, 2nd day after c section the hospital internist prescribed me with ALDOMET, DOPAMET, ADALAT AND "TENORMIN’, i weaned off aldomet and dopamet at first week postpartum, and tenormin at 2nd week postpartum, and adalat at thrid week postpartum. I recently have some blood test, my fasting blood sugar was 100, and tested again usually around 87 to 98. Postprandial ussually around 120 two hour after meal, but i had it once spike to 179at 90 minutes after meal. am i a prediabetic? is tenormin to be blamed? i was never diagnose with gestational diabetes, and before pregnancy, i was very healthy with FBG under 85 and no family history of diabetes.. and when i was taking tenormin, i nursed my baby mix with formula milk, can this harm my newborn too? very curious, and shock when i read an article said tenormin or beta blocker cause diabetes

I went to the doctor today, and after a picture perfect pregnancy, the doctor told me my blood pressure had gone up (not an unfamiliar condition to me, this is my second baby and I had preeclampsia with the first so bad the labor had to be induced) but when they did the urine test, they also found Ketones in my urine. For those unfamiliar with ketones, they are proteins which feed on muscle, usually due to starvation or uncontrolled diabetes. I eat VERY well, and I don’t have diabetes, or gestational diabetes. My question is, why are they showing up? Could it have something to do with the blood pressure? Has anyone else had this problem or similar? Have I done something wrong? How can I make them go away? I go back to the Doctor Tuesday, and if I don’t go into labor before then he will probably induce. Will that cure the problem?

I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my first. At my routine appointment today my blood pressure was 140/90 which is high but usually it runs 170/80 which is very high. My blood pressure is always high at the office when they take it but i also have it checked by my mother who is a nurse every other day and it usually runs in the 130’s over 70’s. I am always nervous going to the doctor for checkups and I have no idea why. Anyway, my obgyn referred me to a high risk doctor and I was wondering what I can expect to happen at this visit. What are the treatment options and what are the odds that I will have to be hospitalized for the remainder of my pregnant or even deliver at 31 weeks? I am scared to death which i know only makes this worse as well but any serious answers would be greatly appreciated. Also there is no protein in my urine and i do not have gestational diabetes. I only get short of breath sometimes, other than that I feel fine. Thank you all in advance again.
