I have an untreated pfo, history of ministroke, but I’m confident I’ll get that fixed as I am only 24 and in otherwise good shape. However, I am really curious as to why I hear squeaking noises coming from my throat after my (exercise) heartbeat?
I am aware it could be p.tinnitus, but in that case it isn’t logical that another person could hear the sound. I believe it is coming from my vocal chords, because my girlfriend heard it after sex. It is a high pitched whistle after each heartbeat. How could an increase in blood pressure cause air to be pushed from my lungs with enough force to make a whistling sound, and is this something that I should be worried about?
Any educated answer will help me direct my questions to my cardiologist, I am by no means looking for a cure…thanks in advance.
A person’s blood pressure changes in rhythmic fashion, with a periodicity set by the beating of the heart. Suppose a person’s blood pressure P in mm off mercury at time t (seconds) is given by the formula above.
a) Find the period of the function T
b) Find the number of heartbeat(cycles) per minute.
c) Find the maximum and minimum blood pressure
I don’t know how to answer part of my unit assessment (trigonometric functions). any help is appreciated!
Question 1 says: The blood pressure of a person at rest (120 over 80) is described by P=100+20sin6t
Determine from the formula, the rate at which the heart beats, in beats per minute. Assume that one complete cycle of the pressure function corresponds to one heartbeat.
That answer is 57.29 beats per minute.
Question 8 says:
A patient has a blood pressure of 130 over 95. If the patient has the same heart beat rate as in question 1, find the equation of the sinusoidal function that would model her blood pressure.
my class would model this as f(x)=Asin[k(x-p)]+q
i have every value except p!!
f(x)=17.5sin[6(x-p)]+112.5
can anyone tell me what the p value is and how you got it?!?! i will love you forever! thank you!
today i am 38 weeks, to my knowledge i am making no progress, but i don’t even know if that is for sure because my midwife hasn’t checked me at all.. i thought she would at 37 weeks but nope.. just the regular, heartbeat, blood pressure, weight and so on..
i’m in constant pain and i have these weird fears.. frankly, i really had my heart set on breastfeeding my son, cause i loved breastfeeding my daughter, but he’s going to be born with a cleft lip/palate and they told me i most likely won’t be able to breastfeed, they encourage me to pump but want to supplement him with formula after he’s born and still in the hospital…?? i find that depressing..
and then i have this horrible fear that i feel like crap about because i know he’s going to be born with a cleft i fear rejecting him, i can’t imagine i really would, i’ve been so looking forward to meeting him, but i have dreams where after i have the baby i don’t want to hold him or anything.. sigh.. I guess this isn’t a question…
Yesterday my husband was fine and then he started getting a dull ache in his chest (not in the center but more on his left side near his armpit). Then it got worse when he would breathe in, move suddenly or raise his arm.
He was in serious pain last night to the point of wanting to cry. His mother (respiratory therapist) came over and his lungs sounded good, heartbeat fine, blood pressure was good. He took advil and the pain went away. Today the pain is back, though not as bad as last night!
He mentioned it to someone he knows, and the guy said once he strained a muscle or something in his chest once and the pain sounded exactly like a broken blood vessel, which was what his friend was diagnosed with. So I am trying to find info about broken blood vessels and so far = nothing.
I just want to find out symptoms of a broken blood vessel, and treatments. Anyone know??
I was just diagnosed with Addison’s Disease (Adrenal insufficiency) and my biggest problem is that my heart has become rather weak as a result of going undiagnosed for years. I really don’t trust any of my doctors to give me a straight answer so that is why I am asking here. I had a normal echo recently, but my heartbeat and pulses are weak and my blood pressure averages 95/60 ish and getting lower as I have gotten sicker. When they start me on the hydrocortisone and florinef and all that can my heart become strong again?
I was just diagnosed two days ago and they want to do some more test to check for tuberculosis before they give me the treatment. And to answer about my distrust in doctors, well I saw about 50 different doctors since I fell ill and not one of them was able to figure out what was wrong with me until I met my endocrinologist. Over the last year I was misdiagnosed with DEPRESSION, GENERALIZED ANXIETY DISORDER, CONVERSION DISORDER, IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME, MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE SYNDROME, SOMATIZATION DISORDER, HYPOCHONDRIASIS…….WOW!
That is why I do not trust doctors, because not one of them even considered that I may be experiencing Adrenal failure. This includes 3 hospitalizations this year where "no one can figure out what is wrong" took place. Turns out I was having Addisonian Crisis symptoms all 3 times. They had THREE times to figure it out. My blood work showed: Elevated Potassium and BUN. Lowered Sodium and Chloride. I had a resting heart rate of 120. Smart guys….
I’ve been taking high blood pressure medication for about 4 months. My blood pressure has come back down to normal on the medications, but I still hear the "thumping" of my heartbeat in my ears. Does anyone else have this problem? Hoping it’s not just me… my doctor doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but I was just curious to see if anyone else has experienced it.
