First of all I NEVER go to the doctor but I get a routine physical each year. Last December 4th I had been sick for 2 weeks with a bad cough and bronchitis-like symptoms. I finally was told go to doctor by my concerned employer because they felt there might be MOLD in our office. I went that very day to my DR. of two years and he did chest xray and prescribed antibiotic. That treatment worked and I also found there was no MOLD. More than a week later the DR. contacted me to come in for treatment of high blood pressure recorded during the Dec 4 visit. By the time I was called I was recovered and did not have high BP and declined to see the DR. for this again. He wrote on Feb. 18th he had discharged me as his patient due to ‘non-compliance’. I ask you, why did he not treat the high blood pressure the moment I was in distress???? And why dismiss me now, as I do NOT have High BP.
I ran out of room on the first detail. To answer the question I know I do NOT have HP because my husband does and we both monitor our BP. I do it with a separate cuff to encourage him. That is coincidental to my situation too and I wanted to add it. My husband’s BP is 100% under control through medication due to his work, which like my employer require yearly physical. Thanks.
As I said, this DR. did not even address my BP at time of visit. Where was the concern then? I was taking 3 different OTC medicatations: Dayquil, Nyquil, Robitussin by the time I was seen and those were making me sick at my stomach and I coudnt take it anymore. Thanks.
Marco, you are so right. And this non-compliance issue is my concern too. Will I be able to find another physician? This whole situation is crazy. I mean I didn’t accuse him of anything or ask questions until the ‘non-compliance’ issue came up. I didn’t even know what non-compliance was and had to ask. Thanks.
Mom, I declined the offer to return is what happened and it was over the phone where the nurse called me later. I guess I should have gone, in hindsight, and would have if I reazlied he could dismiss me. It all seems very unfortunate. Thanks.
I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with my first. At my routine appointment today my blood pressure was 140/90 which is high but usually it runs 170/80 which is very high. My blood pressure is always high at the office when they take it but i also have it checked by my mother who is a nurse every other day and it usually runs in the 130’s over 70’s. I am always nervous going to the doctor for checkups and I have no idea why. Anyway, my obgyn referred me to a high risk doctor and I was wondering what I can expect to happen at this visit. What are the treatment options and what are the odds that I will have to be hospitalized for the remainder of my pregnant or even deliver at 31 weeks? I am scared to death which i know only makes this worse as well but any serious answers would be greatly appreciated. Also there is no protein in my urine and i do not have gestational diabetes. I only get short of breath sometimes, other than that I feel fine. Thank you all in advance again.
My mother is 45 years old. She diagnosed with Lung Cancer (None Small Cell Cancer) a month before. She is now under Chemotherapy treatment. When we took her to the Doctor yesterday, the Nurse tried to check her Blood Pressure but it was so strange that her Blood Pressure could not appear in Blood Pressure Monitor. My elder brother told to the Doctor, he then checked her pulse it was OK but he didn’t describe that why can’t her blood pressure appear on the monitor.
So can anyone explain it that how is it possible? Please give me some information.
Thanks,
I had a health screening last friday and because I have a big upper arm the nurse used a large cuff and my BP was scarily high (140/104). Today I got it measured at a blood pressure kiosk with a "normal" sized cuff and it was better (123/84).
I know both readings are high but I’m trying to track it to help decided if I want to take medication or not. I’m already trying to lose weight which I know will bring it down.
I was at the dr the other day for treatment of anxiety disorder, my blood pressure was 112/84 which he and the nurse said was good, my pulse was 88 which was probably up b/c I was so upset. Is my blood pressure okay though? Usually the bottom number isn’t over 80.
I’m a major hypochondriac so I have trouble believing dr’s that there’s nothing wrong ![]()
I am 20 week pregnant and this morning the nurse told me that I have high blood pressure and she asked me why and I could not give her an answere cause I have no Idea what causes high blood pressure. I also have never actually had a blood pressure problem? So is it bad to have high BP? Please Im desprate to know?
My nurse today checked my blood pressure and it was cosiderably low. Just below the average though, not servere! I would like to know, what can I do to perhaps raise it a bit (I feel tired all the time etc) and what are the causes of blood pressure (I could do the opposite of these causes to perhaps increase my blood pressure).
Help appreciated! thanks! : )
