You can work in Pascals if you want. All you have to do is find the pascals equivalent to a 0.5 m head of blood. With water, 10 m is appx 1 atm, which is 1.01×10^5 Pa. With blood, the height is divided by the 1.06 density. So 0.5 meters of blood is appx 0.5 * 1.01×10^5 Pa /9.6, where the 9.6 is 10/1.06 (appx). This comes out to about 5.3×10^3 Pa, the pressure equivalent to 0.5 m of blood. So the pressure in the artery is 1.90×10^4- 0.53×10^4 or about 1.38×10^4 Pa.
