What are the effects of extremely high blood pressure?
My ‘normal’ blood pressure is something like 172/140.
I am aware that I have hypertension, thank you.
I am 22, a 1 pack per day smoker. I do not drink coffee/energy drinks; I am 5’11" and 175lbs; which means I have a normal weight.
The hypertension is the onset of the treatment of my aortic carnation; in which a patch was sewn onto my aorta in order to give it a proper size; this was done 14 years ago.
My big question? Am I going to die at 50???

one thing that you gotta do is to STOP smoking
I don’t know if you’re aware of this or not, but it’s scientifically proven that smoking DOES cause hypertension
there are many factors determining how long you still hve to live yet, such as:
are you on any medication? if not, then most likely you won’t survive til 50
would you stop smoking? if not, then your situations would worsen
people on hypertensive medications generally do live a almost normal lifespan
drinking coffe is not a risk factor for developing hypertension by the way (as least in the long run)
it simply increases the blood pressure as long as the caffein is still exerting its influence on the nervous system
I have made a blog about hypertension; it includes all the useful information that one needs to know about it ^^

Your hypertension is considered severe. You should get on medications right away! Uncontrolled, untreated hypertension often leads to left ventricular hypertrophy which is a life-threatning complication.(it is when the left ventricle thickens and/or enlarges because of the eincreased force.) Hypertnesion can damgage your kidneys. It can damage your eye vessels and soemtimes your brain in severe cases. Hypertension is the cause for hypertensive heart disease. It can lead to heart failure if the left ventricular hypertrophy is not treated. Hypertension often leads to coranary artery disease. It can also damage the heart valves. Basically, your blood pressure is too high! And ofcourse, if you dont seek help for that, your life-span will be drastically shortened. Please go seek help I am 14 years old and have had hypertension for 4 or so years. Just a two months ago, my dr. decided to give me drugs for it. Because he waited this long, I acutely(quickly) developed left ventricular hypertrophy in a period of 6 months. I also have a leaking heart valve. I am now planned to see him every 4 months. I hope you take this into consideration. Good luck!
Several health problems will arise when you have a high blood pressure and you won’t feel good.
Its better to keep it checked.
