What is the best way to stop smoking???
Trying to stop smoking for the umpteenth time! Can you please tell me the best way you guys know how so I can kick the habit SUCCESSFULLY once and for all?????!!! HELP!!! ![]()

Never keep the stock of cigerettes with u. This way..u can gradually reduce the intake and finally think of quitting, because, quitting will never happen until u reduce the desire to smoke.

cold turkey…nothing else worked for me, nicorette just keeps you getting that nicotine and draws it out longer…cold turlkey leaves you just as iritable but the nicotine wears out, give it 3 days and youre better already

pick up a different hobby
and dont think about smoking all day
go out and find something fun!

Stop buying cigarettes period.
Cold Turkey…mind over matter. It’s the only way, there is no magical cure. Start today, focus for a month and you’ll be done!!
Quit your job. Stay inside. Prepare for pain. If you’re not prepared for the pain then you won’t be able to make it through.
think of your family. your friends. I doubt that they like it when you smoke so when you smoke you’re basically hurting them. Just throw away all your cigars in the trash and never look back.
I smoke but not often. I have probably one or 2 cigs a day. First thing you need to do is reveal yourself to anyone that doesnt know you smoke expecially someone close like your family
Then you realize that its not that big of a deal and get used to it then get bored or tired of it. It makes your teeth yello and you smell all the time. Being tired of it is the best way to quit. Wat am i talking about ciggerates are addictive and give you cancer and kill you.
Try to find a friend you can go to if you really get the urge to talk you down from it.
Some kind of nicotine substitute is quite helpful (Patches, Gum, Lozenges)
And try to avoid places and situations which you might normally smoke during.
stop immediately , but later u tend to become sick as it cleanse your body system. n AVOID at all cost those who smoke , n places where you buy cigarates. till you are sure you be able to endure with people around you smoking,

There are many places you can check into. Tell your friends and family you want to quit and tell them you need help.
pray, that will help you. threw anything prayer is the strongest thing.
There’s different type of gum. you can get.
my friends dad put a picture of her in a cigaret pack. every time he opened it to get a cigeret he would see her picture and close the pack and not take one. that got him to kick the habbit. maybe it will work for you. get a picture of something you love.. really love. a family member, a best friend.

I know this may sound corny, but I gave up. I don’t mean gave up trying, I mean gave up thinking I could do it. I just stopped, no goals, no thinking it through for the umpteenth time, no psychological games with myself, NO REWARDS in my mind for going one day or two days or only having 3 a day, etc. And most importantly, I told God I was not capable of doing this and asked for His help, this time knowing I couldn’t do it. Call it meekness or humility, whatever suits you. My last cigarette was that day. 30 days later I saw a woman smoking in her car and couldn’t remember what it felt like, I was completely changed. It’s 8 years later now, don’t think a thing of it. I smoked for 13 years prior to that.
Leave it once for all!
Its called "cold turkey". From my personal experience. But it only works IF you really want to quit, NOT IF you wanna try quitting.
The basics are you give up "completely" for about 15 days. This requires a lot will power more than anythin else. After that the urge will automatically subside… beleive me. But, the will power needs to be retained for long … good luck
my mom smokes and has tries lots of things
but what i think worked best
was when she put a little picture
of all her kids into the plastic part of the carton
so everytime she was about to smoke she
saw the picture and i guess it made her sad.
but i would also keep taking pills, gum, paches
she says they all work the same really.

The most important thing you need is the will to want to quit. If you say you’re trying for the umpteeth time, you’re not really wanting to. Get the will to and bingo, you’ll quit. Forget the patches, gum and everything else. If you really can’t get the will, then try the Accupuncture method. Good Luck
Chantix is probably the best route. When I quit I started a yahoo group with extensive files and links attached which can answer ANY question you might have about smoking and quitting. While the group is now inactive….the info is still there. Feel free to have a look and…..Hang in there.
