I have tried all the stop smoking cures including hypnosis. i have now quite for going on five weeks. Don’t waste your money on the patch or gum because one you stop using them you have an 85% chance of going back to smoking. Hypnosis is expensive because it is not a one shot deal you have to go back a couple of times. Finally, I started Chiantix and this stuff works because it tells your brain you do not need nicotine and increases the dopamine levels in your brain similar to that of a cigarette. I smoked for over thirty years and I am ecstatic about quitting.
Cold Turkey
has anyone noticed that all the people who said "cold turkey" on here got a thumbs down? hahaha. but really i truely think thats the best way. john lennon even has a song about it. its called "cold turkey"
cold turkey but find something to keep you distracted so you dont have the impulse to smoke. all the patch does is replace nicotine with caffeine
Cold turkey.
Will power.
Support.
Just stop.
Messing with patches and chewing on stir sticks is just another excuse.
You really have to want to stop.
The best is in Nov. they have the Great American Smoke out.
It makes you feel like you are not going through this alone.
You will never give up the urge really, but in a month you will be ok. The urge after that only lasts about 10 seconds.
You can handle that.
Definately cold turkey. It takes a good two weeks for the stronger urges to start to sibside so don’t feel that you have failed if you sneak in one. Thats when you start again at cold turkey. I halved my intake over one week making sure that I didn’t have one the same time the day before to break that initial habit. When you find yourself in a situation where a cigarete is part of the norm do something out of the norm instead. eg.go gargle. wash your hands. touch your toes 5 times. etc.
i dont smoke, but i believe its just will power.. find a good reason to stop and stay with it..
and i seen ppl who try to smoke less every day.. that doesnt seem to work.. >.^ they end up thinking its just 1 more then later they stazrt thinking its nothing.. then they’re back to the old habits..
so its best go Cold Turkey on it
with all of the different options available, it’s best to discuss them with your doctor.
