Why am I still making milk? Kids are almost four!?
I have twins. they are almost four. I breast fed for six months, and just couldnt keep up with the demand. So, I quit. Turns out, they liked formula better, and kept it down longer. (they had acid reflux since they were so preemie.) But thing is, I still make milk. I dont try to excrete it, but when I give my self exams, with my arms above my head all I have to do is gently push the area around my nipples and it pours, sometimes even squirts out. Is this healthy? They also hurt all the time, no matter where I am in my cycle, and the pain is bad. I have lumps, but 6 yrs ago I had a biopsy, just fibrocystic lumps. But no health insurance, no dr. just making milk, and painful breasts. also have high blood pressure. any link? and is this harmful to my health? (i know the untreated bp is, but what about the milk? )

Its normal. It can take a long time for your body to stop producing it. My sister breastfed for 1 month and her child is almost 4 and she still gets a little milk. Even scarier, I know this lady that didn’t even breastfeed her youngest child who is now 20 years old, and she still gets an occasional drip of clear milk.
It may help to use cabbage leaves, or tight bras and ice packs.
You should have this checked out. You could have a pituitary tumor (a gland in the brain) Everything may be OK, but if you have this tumor, the homones to make your body make milk will be elevated. It is a blood test, and not an invasive procedure.
see your local GP about getting some meds to dry you up. its not expensive, but something I would definately get checked out.
It has been a very long time since I had a new born. But I had this problem with my first child. And I believe my dr. gave me some pills to clear it up.
